Crap. Won’t let me at all with my cell and I have nothing else.

The site told me the same thing because I'm using a Chromebook. The site thought I was using a phone. I tried anyway and it let me do my thing. My internet speed leaves a lot to be desired in Ehrenberg so it took a while. Good luck with it...

My 92 year old mother in a nursing home in Kentucky that has had several Covid 19 cases got her first shot the last full week of December and is scheduled for her second shot 11 January 2021. Probably 50% of the people there did not want to be vaccinated which probably made it easier to get hers. In a facility with 100 residents last week they were tested twice the second test of the week their numbers doubled to 44 residents and 21 staff. Second shot can’t come quick enough. It seems Arizona’s system isn’t working very well.

Success getting vaccinated!

Mom is 92 in a week, and got a shot for her birthday. I am younger and got shot as a family caregiver.

The Yuma health department was well organized with check in at the parking lot and about a dozen stations for the shots. Moderna vaccine. It was a long walk for a 92 yo, but I did ok.

Start at the link posted to schedule the appointment.

I think I will take a nap now.

I made my account at that online site today. I didn't put my Mom's info in, just mine, and it won't let me go further than the actual making an appointment. Since I'm not in the group they are vaccinating now I just kept getting that there are no appointments on that date. I'll put Mom's info in and see what happens. She turns 90 in March. I want to see her get the shot and if I need to wait, well, ok.

Try making the appointment for Mom first, and then if you are the caregiver who will take her, make yours for the same time.

My concern with the way they are doing it, is that many 90 year olds will not get their appointment online. I thought it was difficult and I do stuff online all the time. I think they need to set up navigators like they did for the healthcare marketplace, or else let the 90 year olds walk in and get their shot on demand.

I will say that it was quite a relief to get it done, even though we still have 6 weeks before us to reach 95% immunity. As the caregiver kid, there is a lot of hidden pressure not to blow it, while my parent retains as much freedom as possible.

My mother’s doctor is on top of all this. I assume that how it is for most elderly people. Nothing online required

Maybe this link will help those of us in Arizona begin to understand what group you are in for purposes of knowing when you might get a c hance for the Covid vaccine. Looks like I am in group 1C so it might be closer to spring than I would prefer, my preference would be tomorrow morning. I will be taking a look around the AZ and CA state websites to find one I can get email updates on the dates I can first make an appointment.

That is good. I too have other friends who are going through their doctor instead of public health.  -crofter

Link for Maricopa County (Phoenix area) using the Pfizer vaccine if that makes a difference to you. Their information says they will contact you when you are prioritized. I received about 3 or 4 emails from them a couple days after signing up (different location). You will need your zip code.

The test trials vaccinated over 800 people per hour per site, maxing out at 10 thousand people per day per site. So they can do this pretty fast if the vaccine supply is there. To quote the good doctor: "Help is on the way."

Nice day, with 74 degrees and sunny, breezy. Having a rest day today.

Arizona, Maricopa County, January 11, 2021 is going to begin taking vaccination appointments for 75 and plder individuals. You need to reserve your appointment time online through the staye. That link was included in some earlief. Postings in this thread.

LaPAz county is not yet ready to vaccinate 75 and older.

Each county in Arizona is scheduling independent of the others. There is no one date for all vounyies when certain group vaccinations will be given. You will have to do daily scanning of local new s article from the county health department websites if they don't have a daily newspaper to announce such things in.

I hope they’re also allowing appointments to be made another Ways There are quite a few people in that age group that don’t have access or knowledge about Internet and computers. There Are quite a few who do still many who do not. I hope someone thinks more about that.

More groups are being vaccinated, 75 yo and above. Now there is a phone in number to get an appointment, here is a link to article about that.  This is the phone number from the article, link below.  1- 844-542-8201

The above phone number is a work around. They do want appointments. 1-844-542-8201 in AZ

You would be surprised how resourceful many 90 year olds are. Many have a younger family member or family friend who steps in with the data device to make all the web searches and appointments that modern life requires.

Can be frustrating for elders when they can't see well enough to press the button. It would be interesting to see a touch screen for blind people.

Since you asked, I am fine after taking the moderna vaccine. I am allergic to many things, but not this vaccine. We waited at the vaccination site for a bit just in case. Still 8 days left of quarantine, working on building immunity. Staying inside since no one wears the mask here, even though it is required. If others wore the mask I would not have to quarantine all the time.

Glad we could brighten your day! My mom is doing well and is stable after testing positive several days ago. I believe she got the first shot 2 weeks before she tested positive. They have delayed her second shot till 1 February 2021 that was supposed to be given 11 January 2021. They are waiting at least 14 days from her positive test I assume to insure her immune system isn’t compromised. So far so good.

I have an anti-vaccine friend who is usually anti-everything he likes taking the minority view. He says it’s a easily documented by “Bill gate’s notes” that they want to Force everyone to get the vaccine. whether they want to or not and that by doing that they’re going to change our DNA and make us all dumber so we can work for them for less. So I say “if Bill Gates is that smart of a man that he can became one of the richest on earth and smart enough to make plans that diabolical then why is he so stupid he lets notes where others can read them?”. I am so glad that my time on earth is almost over.

The vaccine runs on mRNA which is different than DNA. I am ok with trying it, lord knows I have tried lots of stuff in my life. After the first 2 days, I am feeling better than I have felt for a while, building up the immunity by getting vaccinated is a good thing.

Doing it the hard way, by getting the actual illness is worse than taking a vaccine. In the case of covid 19, it damages body organs heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, etc. Getting the vaccine does not damage the organs.

Ya, it's not like our government has never forced medical procedures on groups or lied about the effects of treatments they were pushing.

@spiff
No worries if you are in AZ. If you decide not to get the shot, you will get covid instead.

I did find some stats for Mexico in an article in the Yuma paper. Sounds like Rio Colorado and Mexicali are overrun. Link to article.

Watched an old Hitchcock movie with Mom, the final scene was inside the statue of liberty. I don't think I climbed the stairs when I was there so now I know the statue inside and out. Here is a link to the 1942 review.

Temps still mild here, 40s at night and 70s in the midday.
