once when passing through Winslow I stopped to get gas. I pulled in to the station and that song started playing on satellite radio. talk about 1 in a million. "Take it Easy" by the Eagles, great song. . highdesertranger

well maybe just for a minute. but there was no girl in a flatbed Ford slowing down to take a look at me. so I left. highdesertranger

That's one song I have heard a LOT !
But all the girls just wanted to look at the BAND

What fun! Been singly that song all day, while I take it easy!

Yogidog......how did you really like the BLM campgrounds off 395? Was it a little warm there or did lower humidity make it not so bad? What kind of rig did the camp host have? A place you wouldn't mind spending more time at?

I absolutly loved those campgrounds. I miss them.

I think it was warm 90 but I found one with a creek, that I backed up the truck to.

He had a pretty old something I think he said 86 maybe it had card board in the window I remember. Not much help here, but it was rickety looking.

I guess it depends on what a person is looking for though, heaven to me could be someone else's nightmare. They are rustic, old, pavement cracking, vault tiliets. But the view, wilderness spectular! That's what means the most to me. But now that I am thinking about if someone wants a super campground with facilites that's not it!

Feek free to ask more not sure I answered

Camp host had an RV. Not sure on humidity. Lots of help I am I was just watching the lights!

Yes, that gives me a better idea. Thanks. Best way is see for myself. :) I don't need fancy, that attracts more of a crowd. Going to see about hitting that area next spring. I'll have to go back and look, I think you had a few photos from the camp ground area.

Dennis, I logged off and kept thinking about your question, if I remember right u were in northern California some years back? If I have it right I think u would love it. Yes u will have it see it for yourself in the spring! There are also national forests mixed in, probably with elevation if heat is an issue. Yes it was hot and I had come from nevada desert. Excited for u to go

Yes, northern CA. 20+ years ago and weather was awesome when I was there! Looking forward to eastern Sierras next trip.

U will love it! Big nature! Who is looking at the pavement anyway :)

First time camping sharing a location with others. It is confirming what I thought about vehicles, there is good fit between vehicles, their owners and location and climate. It is being confirmed that mine is not set up for extended boondocking, I do t have refridagation system, cooling systems or electrical system. I move around with the weather, finding shade, going to where there is a brezze ect. so if plan on extended time boondocking, especially in free areas I would encourage having the extras!

Had a fun cook out last night with the others here:)

Really nice day, I solved my too hot problem by going under a pavilion and going swimming. Worked out great another woman came over and she made food and had nice relaxing afternoon. Then another new to the road woman pulled in and knew it was us. We have so much in common conversation was super easy and interesting.  Spent some time with another person here here, truely is feeling like mutally supportive situation, easy. I wasn't too sure I could do a group thing but it is turning out really nice. Tomorrow getting a cheap raft floating down recover to see petroglifts cool!

Still going super well camping by others:) there is six of us and we all get along really well, nice mix of socializing and doing our own thing. I appreciate it because I can be part of but still have time for my constant self improvement stuff I do:) we have a good vavarition of length of time on road from just started out, two months, six months, me three years and the other more than me and much more expereince in boondocking. So cool all having same current experience. Learning alot. Been floating everyday. This down time in small town I am getting so caught up, organized and clean:) very very peaceful

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..................................bye bye stress!
