Just looked out my window at 4 am and it's the first snow of the year here.  It's just a dusting but may reach a half inch of accumulation.  What we call a "Mall Snow" around here.  The local TV station weather man will be talking snow all day now and the Mall will be running advertisements constantly. LOL  (ahhhh sticks n bricks living)

Generator or not. Come on over. There are a couple of people here that aren’t YARCers just put them on ignore!

Oh, your here Cammalu? I’ll have to come visit. I have one of those crazy generators. I can clear out the yarc camp for ya. Haha!

Everyone is welcome. We don’t need to clear anyone out. You are even welcome [emoji16]

Happy Yarc Camping people!

Today I met with the woman who is helping me with the house grant. I have to get her a few more verifications, but overall this is going well.

Then I went to pay my water bill and discovered my property used over 60,000 gallons of water last month - and the usual is between 2000 and 3000. I walked the property with my son-in-law and the repairman and discovered a big puddle, so we'll be working on a way to pass by that section of water pipe. I think it might have been cracked during the land clearance last April. The water cost me just an extra 20 dollars for the month, so no big financial tragedy.. but I want it fixed. The fix will cost a lot more than the water.

My last water bill was swollen like a baloon too. But I was not surprised. I had forgotten the hose running full speed in the backyard for 2 days. Instead of 4-500  cubic ft, I had run 1600 ccf out the hose.  :s
Oooops!

Van theft update - after a fruitless experience with a locksmith that wasted most of my week, I found a Ford dealership that was willing to take my van and work on it "around the edges" so to speak - officially, they are booked into January, like just about everyone else around here. But it's a large shop. And they seem to get the emotional meaning of "I can't drive my car anywhere, because I can't lock it" and "I'm living on my friend's couch".

Said friend just got a new car, and is lending me his old one, so I can get some necessary equipment-buying done. Hope to be ready to leave here sometime next week.

We travelers are always sooooo appreciative of places that take us in off the road for emergency repairs.

I am generally not big on doing these, but always get online for places like this and give them a great review.

happy thru all the crazy you are getting forward movement jacqueg! Happy there are nice people out there to get ya moving sooner than later. Worse time of year for disasters in our lives depending on customer service and more with any shops etc!

Terrible tornado damage in eastern states including Kentucky, Tennessee today. I have a Zoom meeting scheduled with family members today, two of whom live in Tennessee - so I hope they're able to connect. There are a lot of power outages in that area.

There's rain here in the Klamath River Valley in Northern California - and snow expected later this week. Other than that life's just like normal... but cold! I need to go get more propane this morning.

Your not missing warmth here travel around. Kinda chilly... maybe a couple warmer days ahead. But nothing you would be seeking shade because of. Haha.
I saw that about the tornadoes. The one went over 200 miles on the ground. Death toll quite high. I hope you connected ok.
Thank goodness your water bill wasn’t worse. Glad you found it. Even just land can cost ya I guess. I had a deal where my pump ran and ran. Called for water but line was froze. For me it was a high electric bill and a new pump. Hope you find an easy enough fix!
Hey nature lover... you figure that van out?

What happened to everybody? This is the longest I’ve ever seen travelround’s 24/7 chat thread dead. I’ve lost almost everything in my life including the ability to live on the road and now I’m losing all my forum friends and enemas, Oh crap.

If you want a conversation pick a topic and start one, otherwise its a zzzzz zzzzz zzzz village

Your friends and enemas are out camping and socializing. Come out and join us.

I posted the dates and coordinates of the camp out for High Desert Ranger on the announcements thread.

No nekkid people sighted in the magic circle today. Too cold even for those featherles snow birds. They stayed inside their roosting boxes. In the 30s tonight at YARC camp. I am snuggled up all cozy under a pile of downy feathers.
