Point being, it doesn't hurt any one by being PC but it may hurt by not being PC. It cost absolutely nothing to be nice where as it could easily cost the forum to loose some valuable knowledge and good friends.

I think you have said clearly what I feel. If PC means we live in even a slightly more tolerant and kind society, I am for it. The PC "police" is really only our own societal/cultural sensitivity taking a step forward.

I think of PC as more like "proactively considerate."

I totally agree with this. Some really hate pc but I like it. Being considerate and sensitive to the feelings of others is a good thing. Making a joke at the expense of others is hurtful and certainly not helpful. But I was never into the whole macho thing. I think this forum is moderated quite well.

We no longer have the option to give someone negative ratings. It's a bit of a disappointment to me. I was going for the record.
