I've always loved cold pizza, matter of fact I think I enjoy it more the next day than when it was fresh.
Cold spaghetti is outstanding as well. With a dash or 2 of cider vinegar!

It is like a cold pasta salad.

I havent reheated spag in years.

Black eyed peas, a staple on the school lunch menu in mid-fifties Montgomery, AL schools.

Here I sit perplexed at how the hell you have flowers to water in a van?..lol
I water my mothers flowers as a way to check on her without obviously checking.

Does anyone on here actually have a plant in the van or a portable tub garden? I used to do macrame plant hangers but will have to severely tax my memory to remember how I did it. I have a swinging mobile in the van that is holding up mostly with a few things fallen off. -crofter

Also another winter preparation thing: if you have medicare, flu and pneumonia vaccines are free at the local pharmacy without an appointment. Both shots are availble in stronger strengths if you want it. Got mine.

Getting ready for a safe & micro gathering of 2 here for Thanksgiving. Today we looked up cranberry fluff recipes. Apparently the sky's the limit on what you can put in fluff.

I am substituting apple pie with whip cream instead of the usual pumpkin pie. I would also have ice cream but cant get out of the store with it due to the long lines.

I am substituting smoky pork fat in the turkey breast instead of the usual sage spices. I think that is the best idea I have had in a while for roast bird.

There will be no dressing, but there will be roasted yams and we will have gravy for the meat and potatoes.

I am hoping by cutting out the breads, the sage and the pumpkin it will be a healthier meal with less stuff that sends my body into a meltdown.

 Tomorrow I bake pie.  -crofter

Here is a weather link I found on another thread, looks to be worthy of exploration for trip planning. Thanks urbankid.

When planning for summer in AZ there is always the temptation to go someplace cooler, especially after July fourth. I am limited to lower elevations, so that dials in a pricey trip to the rainey Pacific Northwest. In the foggy areas temperatures are quite stable but would feel really cold coming from the desert. The warmer eastern valleys have been filled with smoke from fires in recent years.

So looking at other areas with lower elevation and lower temps in middummer.  -crofter

It is 82 degrees and another beautiful day in southern AZ,  grounding my bare feet in the sun feels great.

Crafter - This is the first time ever I beat your temperature. Course I am 1200 miles further south but it was 87 here in Ellis Berg Florida today. Hope to be to Sarasota by noon tomorrow. And I’ll be thankful to get there and I’ll be the only stuffed turkey in the area.

Sounds like you are going in the right direction. I am at around latitude 32 and I am guessing that you are somewhere north of latitude 25 unless you are out in the keys.  -crofter

Here is a great series of a build video. If you scroll down you can see how they used their floor for extra and secure storage. In my experience the secure hidden storage is a PITA to access, but may be necessary in some situations. The casual robber will not dig that deep thru your stuff and will grab the stuff on top.

Apple pies turned out good, I am eating a piece of the tester. I watched the thanksgiving classic " Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"  still hilarious after all these years.  Quote from "Polar Express" ( watched that too)

Up here at Bullfrog Utah we have had some really strong gusts from the south around 40 to 50 MPH this morning with a constant wind of around 20 MPH out of the north this afternoon. Pretty much normal for here this time of year. High in the 50’s and lows around freezing at night.

Nice upper 60's and 70's here in Sierra Vista. Not windy.

I'm now warming up my to go plate from yesterday's T-day dinner.

My friend's cat is 14 and she's getting crotchey and scratched me (just a little) last night.

They will take delivery of an 8-week old Labradoodle in January.

Poor pup. The cat will rule big time.
