Definitely feeling beat tonight. Too much time on my feet. But at the end of the day it was nice to sit around with friends at the campfire while watching the sunset and a bit of lightening show in the distance. No rain here today so I was able to use my generator and power tools and work outside.

The weather is looking quite nice most of the coming 10 days. But tomorrow is another workday for me. It will take another couple of days to wrap up this project and get things stowed away.

My Samsung Galaxy is going to be my new best friend for awhile, I guess; I would definitely buy and enjoy a children's book, though.

John Holt (the educator, not the reggae musician) thought that nonfiction children's books at about the fourth grade reading level were the easiest way for parents to learn about their kids' new favorite thing, or about anything at all.

John Steinbeck would not have laughed, since he deliberately kept The Grapes Of Wrath accessable to the people who were living it.

Children's literature is not a frivolous waste of time. Who knows, you just might save the world and never even know it.

Now I SERIOUSLY need to go back to lurkdom where I belong!

Still busy frustrating myself building the shallow pantry cabinet. Too much bending time means sore neck and back and that means my sleep time is not as deep with good rest. Oh well, almost done, hopefully today will bring it to 95% completion!

Sounds like a wonderful evening. I miss even being able to sit out on a balcony/patio on a warm summer evening watching the sunset, and then watching the stars come out. I like that good kind of tired where I really got a lot done, and then still had the time to relax, maybe visit a little.

Worked really hard yesterday and my back was sore and achy by the end of the day. So I took a mild muscle relaxer, an anti-inflammatory for my arthritis and a beverage and headed to the evening campfire. One of my fellow campers has a great, mellow playlist and a portable Bose speaker. It was great to just sit and relax. Within a half hour all the pain was gone! Woke up happy this morning ready to get another day of work going. Cardstock Etsy kits to cut, wood trim pieces for my trailer interior to cut, varnish to apply, etc. But all done in a lovely location with friends nearby to visit with if I needs break from tasks. I am also only a mile from a national Park Monument if I want to say the heck with working and have a getaway escape.

Pantry cabinet is all done except for putting in some foam shelf liner. It will be wise to have product to act that as a nonskid cushion so canned goods don't slide around too much.

It was in the high 80s today so very uncomfortable for working but I drank lots of water, took some short rest, etc. In addition to finishing the pantry cabinet I got all the wood parts cut for a drawer under my work table. A desperately needed convenience for my cutting machine and business supplies such as pencils, sharpies, scissors, tape, knife blades, glue, etc. When I setup to make the finished drawer front for that drawer I will also make the last drawer front needed for the kitchen area.

The end of my build really might happen before 2023 rolls around! If I can't find a friend to partner with for putting up the ceiling vinyl I will sign up for help with that at the next Van Build event in Southern AZ. It is fuss overhead work in the low overhead areas. Plus it goes up with very stinky contact cement. No second chance, it has to go on perfect the first try. I am not looking forward to doing that job but I sure am looking forward to finishing that job, I will celebrate big time

My oldest son has been here from Washington and has been helping me with quite a bit. We basically worked it out so he can take it over but I still have it to come to. I stay in my truck camper but do enjoy the facilities. Five grandkids who spend a fair amount of time in the lake. My daughter-in-law is a special kind of gal also. So it’s been fun. Two year old Daniel has to come out and sit on my lap on my big mower for township. He wanted to ride, but I didn’t think it wise...
My granddaughter painted Kira from a picture I took up off the north shore. A friend who is an accomplished artist was impressed. One more week... Tuesday night the town board will choose my replacement. I’m looking so forward to retiring as I’m finding I don’t have time to work... haha. Getting my truck, camper and trailer ready for the big trip west and then south. May bring a smaller version of power tools. But I want to be ready for anything... this trailer I picked up might end up being my new home at some point. There will be compromises and trade offs. Just need to simplify! Oh, and new glasses coming this week making reading this all a little easier. Haha.

I didn't get in on the beginning Maki, but I'll take a look back on the thread, see what I can find. I know you have/had a truck and trailer and you are working on a bigger rig it sound like. What an amazing accomplishment

I do not have a truck or a large trailer either. I have a Honda Element and a small 51 year old commercially built fiberglass trailer with a popup roof section.

If I were to change vehicles I would get something a bit more powerful for towing but that is no where in sight in my budget at present . I really like my trailer so I have no intention of letting it go anytime soon.

It was very hot day, right at 90 degrees. I had to battle with myself all day to get up and do some increments of work followed by plenty of rest periods. The resting part is not a battle. But at least I did accomplish a couple more cabinet building task. Not many more hours left on that part of my build!

There is a gym in town owned by the Native Americans here - which I could go to - but I don't right now, because I'm still recovering from plantar fasciitis and when I walk much, it gets painful again. I stay home except one day a week to get mail and shop, and I'm thinking about cutting back on my activities that day. I really want this plantar fasciitis to go away so I can take walks again. Meanwhile the rest of my health has gone downhill because I can't walk much.

If you are still in pain, you may want to try an insert from Dr. Scholl's. About 6 years ago I got plantar fasciitis and my doctor said his wife has had it for years. I thought I was going to be in pain for years, as well. But a friend said it goes away fast with inserts. He was right. Mine went away after wearing the inserts for a day or two.

I finished my under table drawer yesterday. Today I built a small infeed, support table for my vinyl cutter out of scrap wood pieces left from the cabinet building. Of course since it is the same type of wood it matches the drawer. The legs on the infeed table are removable. When I want to use the support table all I have to do is drop the bottom of the structure down into the drawer and push the drawer in until the legs are up against the edge of the main table. That is all that is needed to keep the support table in the right position. Setting up to do cutting is much easier with the new drawer and infeed table combo. I will get around to building an outfeed table later on. I can use what I already have for that for now.

I am not cutting vinyl, I cut cardstock temporary adhered to plastic cutting mats. I need infeed and outfeed support tables to keep those materials flat and stuck to each other so the cardstock does not shift out of alignment.

A strong breeze blew clouds in out of the northwest this morning. It has been spitting a few drops of rain now and again. No thunder so far ..Glad of the wind and the clouds otherwise it would feel too hot today.
