that looks really good. highdesertranger
Awesome town at Monroe, and fairgrounds are great to camp in town. Don't forget to stop in at the Silver Spoon in Duvall if it is still open.maki2 said:...The fairground space in Monroe Wa is not lovely but it works OK for puttting time into my build. no one says anything anout my using saws, drills, power sander etc. that is because there are industrial spaces next to it as well as the speedway track. Plus all the supply stores I need are very close by which saves time and gas. So I will be staying here a couple more days. Then back to Seattle for labor day weekend and free camping. I have some mail due in on Tuesday. no plans on where I will go after that. Too hot to head very far south though. But much depends on the fall weather, sometimes September is dry, other years it is very soggy. Living in my trailer I now get to leave if its going to be dreary like last fall was in the NW.
Indian fry bread is gypsy fare for sure, at least for me. Also, rolls not too hard to produce in less than ideal proofing conditions.VanFan said:Two questions: 1) Is it tricky to mow in the dark? 2) Will you use your bread baking superpowers in the van?
Us mature ones need to take rest days, sometimes as often as three or more days off per week. Be sure to get those rest days on your schedule, TA. Good to hear your trip went ok. We are at the end of the hot weather in southern AZ, and that makes me really glad. I have been busy flipping a trailer so some of the work was inside this summer.travelaround said:Hello - I am loving your art, Sofi! I went to my Dr. Appt. today and was declared somewhat healthy. Of course I didn't tell him all my problems, so "healthy" is relative.
I'm still unloading my van from the trip to get storage items in Idaho. Don't know why, but when I got back here it is like I lost a lot of energy and have been feeling weak and tired ever since. I unload a few boxes a day, that's all. Really pathetic, to not have the energy to do much.
Looks like one last gasp at 117F this weekend in Yuma, hopefully it'll cool down afterwards. We'll be getting over 100F here this weekend, but Sept 1 is usually a shift to when the nights start to cool off. Hooray for September. Glad you're still with us, crofter.crofter said:We are at the end of the hot weather in southern AZ, and that makes me really glad.
A full-timer gypsy friend of mine, hiding in the woods of WI, makes yummy looking bread in her crockpot.crofter said:Indian fry bread is gypsy fare for sure, at least for me. Also, rolls not too hard to produce in less than ideal proofing conditions.
The mail I am waiting on is orders from Amazon. I get notices for shipping and delivery. Mostly getting the parts so I can setup a Yagi antenna on a mast for remote location reception on Verizon. Still need a cable and a gender bender connector for the cable. Will have to order those direct from WeBoost as they not in their Amazon store.bullfrog said:Mail service has been reported to have slowed way down in some cases so if you can I would check ahead.
Soo much inspiration everywhere on this forum.Qxxx said:A full-timer gypsy friend of mine, hiding in the woods of WI, makes yummy looking bread in her crockpot.
In my van, I wanted to add a small bit of aesthetics, so I covered up the bare white walls by hanging blankets with nice designs. Below is a fractional view of part of my build. Now that Sophia has the cabinets painted and the flooring planned, she'll start looking at the grey carpeting on the walls. I might get some artistic hangings to tack up, short of painting it all myself.crofter said:Which is better, photographic prints or modern on canvas?

I really like the motif you have there. It is very Pendleton Blanketesque. I like the swivel light too!Qxxx said:In my van, I wanted to add a small bit of aesthetics, so I covered up the bare white walls by hanging blankets with nice designs. Looks well worth a try. Thanks!desert_sailing said:Anyone else make beer bread? Looks like you get to skip the whole rising rigmorale stuff and laundry list of ingredients.
