Bullfrog - medice will pay for 20 days of rehab. That’s over on Wednesday of next week. If I stay beyond that they wanna put me on Medicaid which means they’ll take my Social Security check let me keep about $100 of it and then care for me into for bed wars or something like that. I have a van payment to make insurance to pay storage shed with the nature stuff in Pennsylvania I cannot afford to go without my Social Security income. And I am sufficiently getting better even though the doctor doesn’t want me to put weight on it yet yet i’m getting one of those knee walkers see how I can do with that. Thanks for all the good wishes from everybody I’m putting my best foot forward.

If you go out for a few days and have problems can you go to the hospital for treatment and then start a new rehabilitation period with Medicare? It seems to me my mom’s doctors did it with her.

Tthere likely wont be a lot of choice in a available knee walkers iin tne area. . But you might try seeing if there is a local group which offers used ones to low income people. I know there were a couple of such groups. In the Seattle area. The social services worker might be able to help you locate one.

To be an insult to injury right now the social worker here is out with Covid

that is way better than there being on site with Covid

Guess I had better report my own reply for using the C word. Feel free to delete that response, my apologies to everyone.

I feel like I am not doing enough to help out those who are sick and dying. Just staying home, as I've been told to do. Still recomended to avoid gatherings in southern AZ, but at least we are not #1 anymore. Did you notice how the spread of the variant stops at the state line? Could be border patrol and their sniffer dogs. Link to sniffer dogs with cute dog pic.

Cute dogs... thanks for the link to the photograph! I drove around today... went to the pharmacy and post office and drove by my home and took a photo of the ruins covered with snow. Memories! Hopefully the snow will melt soon and county workers will get back to work at clearing off our properties. I still have not made any decisions about how to deal with rebuilding something on the land. I'm getting pretty comfortable in this travel trailer and even adjusting to grandchild visits.

Woke up to sunshine easy breezes and taking some time to appreciate that I have a roof over my head, fuel for coking and heating, good food to eat, friends who have invited me for a great meal this evening and income generating work to do from the Etsy orders that came in this morning.

Now for a cup of coffe and taking my vitamins and minerals. Then a short walk to get my muscles limbered up.

I hope everyone has a decent day today and things to look forward to doing among the normal need to get it all done stuff.

Hey anyone got tips for a 26 year old about to move into a camper for a couple months -a year!

Class B camper van parts scavenger hunt / finally found:
* A passenger side window
* Weather stripping /gaskets for my back doors and my side doors.
* An auto body shop to grind out a couple of body rust spots.

Three down one to go. Now just need a mechanic. But feeling pretty darn good about the three I got.

And did all this to the Saturday mornings greatest hits album. My good luck charm?

What kind of tips are you looking for?
Meal ideas? Clothing / storage? Parking?

Um, this entire forum is full of tips. thousands of them. Which ones did you have in mind?

As was said in another thread - introduce yourself in the Newcomer's Corner. tell us specifically what you want to do, and what you've done in the past.

Might I suggest reading the forums then? I'm not sure how you can expect anyone to collapse years of posts into a tip or two.

Or if reading is not your thing, go to youtube and take a look at the dozens of videos posted under 'CheapRVLiving' or 'Homes On Wheels Alliance'. Among many other channels.

Sure here is a tip, if you are going camping buy your shoes, sock, pan,ts shirts, jacket, hat in a color that matches the brown of the dirt. Same thing goes for the flooring, countertops and bedding. Great camoflage too.

Great tip, Maki. Maybe that's where I went wrong.... not enough brown in my wardrobe!

I spent a few minutes organizing the van... it still needs a major miracle. Went to the post office and got gasoline... such an exciting life.

Also spent two hours on Zoom today talking to my siblings and cousins. We've been doing this on the last Saturday of the month for quite a while now. I remember the first time or two I was still in the mobile home, before it burned.

Todsy was mybmy first trip across the border into Los Algodones. I hitched a ride with a friend who was heading there. it was overall a pleasant experience. Comung back through customs was super easy. We got there pretty earlly so were crossing back before lunch, only a few people were in li e so we got through quicly. I had heatd con flicting reports about what I D was needdd but my enhanced Drivers license was the only ID I had to show. No need for a passport or birth certificate in addition to the enhanced DL. the way some persons have stated

I was able to get lots of the very few prescript oon medications I take. Nothing exotic amoong them, just an antiinflamatory for arthritis, an inhaler for my mild bronchities and a mild muscle relaxer. I do have prescription drug insurance but the annual cost to uby them in Mexico came out lower than if I ha gotten them in the US. Plus not having to deal with going for refills every month or two is huge bonus. Once a year and done suits me just fine in my nomadic life.

But this trip was mostly about finding out where to park how eady was it to move around the town , cross the border etc. I w ill be going back in a few weeks to stay closer to the border as I anticipate several more trips to get some dental work done.

Lots of vendors trying to sell me jewelry. They do seerm to target women a lot. Not at all scary or anything, jtey are all very pleasant, just smile and say no thanks. The next task will be to figure out which dentist to see, there are a great many of them.
