I guess the six sided shelter with only three panels is set up to protect from the sun. (?)

I got my little clothes dryer and it is cute as can be... it is on top of the dining table here in my trailer. I'm still waiting for the washing machine. The washer holds 11 pounds of clothing but the dry holds only 5 pounds. Small loads!! But that should be plenty for me most of the time if I do my laundry daily.

My granddaughter came to visit me today, like sunshine on a cold day. They go to school again now, but today, being Saturday... she had some spare time.

Otherwise, not much going on. I bought a pizza for dinner. Most of it got stored in the van fridge... for later. It will probably last me at least a week. A lot of us think our local Pizza House has the best pizzas and breadsticks in the world. I used to work there... in 2007-2008. Now I think buying a pizza once a month is not a bad idea.... but more than that would probably not be good for my health.

If you get a pizza with plenty of veggies you could survive on it. Lots of gamets seem to thrive on it.

The side panels on tne popup screen shelters are called wind panels. But the screening on them is a very tight weave to keep out the tiny no seeums. So not all that much wind gets through the screeninig.BBut a lot of what they do is provide privacy.

I have a second set of 3 panels on the way. One of them will be used for the 4th side. The other two will become a wind/privacy panel with a center zipper for the side that has a zipper in the screen for entry. The left over material will be used to create avrain flap around the top edge of the wall so rain does not come into that area. Some of thebshelters have that featue designed intomthem, mine did not. Any leftover bits might end uo as wall pocketsbthat clip onto the framing inside for holding books, lights or whatever stuff I might want to have handy. plus it is always nice to have some extra materials for patches.

Now that I have it setup and I have a generator that space can become the sewing room for the first projects I do in it. I have an extravtarp around for the ground cloth. Of course it could also with the privacy panels up be a very large shower tent.

No doubt that I will enjoy having it for a base camp situation even on trips without my trailer along.

In for a string of cloudy days here in Quartzsite. Sixty degrees without warm sun feels downright chilly today. Makes me thankful I have a generator now to top up my battery should I want to run my heater for a while. Despite the overcast my battery was up to 100% by 9 am. Of course I was not using much power last night as it was not that cold.

Yep. Pretty chilly out today. Looks like cloudy for awhile. I’ll be running my generator also.

Currently pouring buckets in southern AZ. I set out the rain guage, so I'll let you know exactly how many buckets tomorrow. It hasn't rained here for almost a year, and that's a long dry spell.

Course I did cause this rain by replacing the wipers and washing the car.

Also flash flood warning. Time to move if you camped in the wash. Wash is such an odd landform term, I am always expecting to see clotheslines.

No flash flood warnings issued for quartzsite this morning. There have been other days when the rain was this heavy since I arrived in late November. A stretch of several days of rain and strong winds during that previos event. It is coming down pretty goofd this morning but predicted to be partly cloudy around 9 am.

Nothing much happening in terms of weather is agenerally a good thing. Unless it is typically bad weather.

The rain this week inQuartzsite might feel bad to some and very good to others. Ofourse if you need a lot of solar power then this will not be your happiest week.

In town doing laundry this afternoon. Not exciting. But I did buy some hamburge and the other ingrediantsr to make a pot of chili since I will be running my stove/ heater on low this afternoon and evening. Perfect time for chilli or stew that needs a slow simmer.

Hello nomad Friends. I got to travel to the surgeons office today and actually enjoy some blue sky and nice Florida weather. He took off all the padding and junk from the last surgery and I have an interesting looking foot that will require a custom shoe for the rest of my life. No weight to be put on the thing for at least three more weeks maybe four. Medicare runs out in two weeks so I’m hoping for some creative alternatives. They say oh no problem we can put your Medicaid but then we take your Social Security check from you and you won’t be able to make a payment on The van or insurance or the storage shed in PA with all the nature stuff in it. Hey but I’m doing all right. Also got a downer today because I got paperwork that said my divorce is final. Course I didn’t wanna divorce that was her idea and I left her do the paperwork and file for it and I just ignored it. So she’s happy snuggling up to the other guy tonight. After 40 years with me???. I’m trying not to let all that bother me to badly and get on with life. I need to put my best foot forward. Ha ha ha. They only took about 1/3 of the foot. So I’m not defeated. God bless the nomads even though stuck in a rehab hospital. If I wanted to gross you all out I got some neat pictures of this deformed foot but I’ll wait till I really get ticked off at one of you to put that on.

First you can appeal the Medicare decision usually which I would do. They can extend or readmit as well in certain cases. See if they have a patient advocate you can talk to. So what happens if you don’t do Medicaid and tell them to just bill you? My mom has been in both rehab and now a nursing home for almost two years. She has insurance but only started Medicaid last November. Their billing department has had 3 new managers in the last 3 months. They still have not gotten paid since last February because what bills we have received had errors or were not complete. Yesterday I got a letter stating they would accept 30% of what they charged if we make payments. Just saying.

Today was the monthly agency wide meeting (all staff, not just teams). We have to do them via Zoom. They are at 10:30 am. I have a late schedule and have sleep problems, so getting up that early is a burden on my health. It's not so bad if the meeting topics aren't lame. The main topic today wasn't lame, but the content provided about it was lame. People shouldn't be presenting themselves as expert speakers on subjects they literally learned about a week ago - we had 3 of those today. My coworker and I had a side conversation in text messages about it. I have two co-workers to whom I go for commiserating about work issues, and have known them for about a decade, so we always have things to say about basically everything.

Do you know how hard it is to be an ENTJ personality type amongst an agency full of mostly people wearing rose colored glasses that they want everyone else to wear too? It's horrible. I have to walk on eggshells all the time, due to these people being intimidated by reality and facts. A fact is a fact is a fact. It's not a judgement of something, not an opinion, not a criticism, it simply "is", and nothing more/nothing less. I can't stand liars, so I can't lie, which is really hard when I practically have to in order to not smudge the color on those glasses. So I mostly have to stifle reality until I can talk with my two commiseration buddies, who mostly feel the way I do about rose colored glasses and Pollyannaism.

I had a doll named Pollyanna when I was a little girl. I cut her hair, and it was bad. I don't know what happened to Pollyanna, but my guess is that she was thrown away. Sorry, Pollyanna, our personalities were just a poor match. My tiger, Sunshine, though, was a perfect match.

Tigers are somewhat like ENTJs. When I was young, I had dreams about tigers leading me through underground tunnels, and came to recognize the tiger as my guide animal. Later, still before the advent of internet, I discovered that I was born in the year of the tiger. A couple of weeks ago, I had a dream in which I was watching a construction type of guy putting three baby tigers behind a fence that he had just been putting up around a building that was still under construction. Tigers are amazing animals.

I don't eat animals.

I used to work in mental health, and my people would usually do the darndest things when it was my turn for feedback. At the staff meeting people accused me of making it up. Like you, I cannot tell a lie. So glad I am retired.

Nature lover, I'm sorry about the divorce, but you have your faith and what's more precious than that? Sorry about the foot too. I hope you'll be able to walk on it okay when the month of waiting is over. You've really had a hard time!

Hi everyone... I've been doing laundry too... I did two loads yesterday at the laundromat and two more today. I'm not happy having to do any more than two loads at a time. This is my backlog of laundry piled up because it is so hard to get to the RV park washer/dryer as someone else was almost always using it. So I had a few bags of laundry in the van... I'm getting through that and then will take blankets, and everything else.. maybe not tomorrow. Maybe the next day.

I have a different project planned for tomorrow: getting rid of empty cardboard boxes, which I've been tossing into the cargo trailer for some time now. I've been unable to hook up my new little washing machine because of a filter inside the faucet on my sink. I apparently need a special tool to get it out of there. I'll figure it out eventually but for now just wanted to get the laundry piles done and out of my way. I wasn't going to be able to do all that in the little washer anyway, but when I catch up, the little washer will be okay for a daily wash.

Well, that's about all I've done with my day. More or less. I'm not too happy about my granddaughter wanting to come into my trailer to spend time with me every day. I love her so much, but find that much company to be draining. I'm nowhere near her energy level. I feel selfish because I value my alone-time and am not used to being around someone else that much. I like little visits, but not long ones, and not every day. I think someday I might really regret not enjoying spending more time with her. I guess I'm guilting myself for not being the perfect grandma.

@nature
Been there. Divorce is a death, and you should let yourself have the time. I took two years and that kept me out of the ditch that so many get into after parting ways. I wish you well.

Your nurse case manager should be able to help you get a longer stay (a stay is the length of time medicare or medicaid will pay). The nurse case manager just has to write up the paperwork with the medical need and fax it in. Make a few more calls bugging them before you give up. Well that is all the free advice I have for today.

Another inch of rain in the rain guage overnight, downright soggy for a desert.

Went to sleep early which means waking up way before dawn. I am not fond of that situation as living on the road means chores need daylight time and goung in and out beteen my tow vehicle or tent and my travel trailer. Also observing quiet hours so I dont want to disturb other campers or their dogs. But at present no one is camped right next to me as they all left to go to the Texas south coast.or into Mexico.

The weather report at present looks pretty good for chores the next few days, some showers are predicted but all of it at night time. So that means enough solar power for basic needs of heat, fridge and charging devices. . But I will be doing some generator time for using power tools this week. Today I go to town tp pick up my new dril mtor. My old one was syolen last spring and I have been limpimg along with a make do, 12v, underpowered drill. But I want to get my cabinet doors and drawers built with a Kreg jig screw system so I will be doing a lot of drilling time and that stronger 18v drill motor is going to make the job go much faster and easier. For now I will hang onto both motors, the 12v can hold the small pilot drill bit for putting up wood trim on the walls and the 18v can hold the countersink bit. But once the build tasks are done I will pass along the 12v motor and charger to another person in need.

Predawn now but it was cold so I turned on my diesel stove heater. Taking advantage of the slow simmer burner area on the stove to finish slow cooking a pot of chilli for dinner tonight. It will definetly add some moisture to the air in my trailer which is OK as that will help relive my mild bronchitis issues from the dry desert air. Sometimes enough moisture to cause condensation is not a bad thing as long asit can dry out during the day so that it does not create mold issues. I am truly grateful not to be trying to spend the winter camping in grey, soggy Western WA. I would be mopping up condensation off the walls and glass all day long without ever getting ahead of it. Today I will just have to wipe off the window glass once or twice until the sun brings some warmth to the glass surface..

Morning Maki. I’m up also - sorta. I don’t think I have to go anywhere today - YAYYY

Good morning West Coast early risers. I’ve been up and awake for four hours now. If you’d like I can give you a wake up call at 6 AM Eastern time.
