    Poorman's DIY jumper pack

Yep mine was the 150cc model, black. A slimmer version of the 300cc Dream. Had square fenders with the duck tail flare on both of them. Mine was a 1962 or 63. Not sure of the year anymore. I have a pic somewhere. If I can find it I'll post. It was an early production model that had a flaw in...

    Poorman's DIY jumper pack

Back in the sixties I had a Honda 150. The one with square fenders. I worked construction. My boss had a six volt V-8 Edsel, early sixties model. My little Honda had a six volt system with a smallish lead acid battery complete with fill caps for adding water. It had no problem starting his big...

    Free E books

Somewhere on the road to Keywest is great. I read about a year ago and totally enjoyed it. There is also second book that comes up free occasionally. Still in Keywest of course and same characters. Good read.

    12v on demand water pump

I used to work in Orlando, where the Skycraftstore is. It's where I got my supplies from. Always a joy just to wonder around the store. You name it they have it.

The correct way to check automatic transmission fluid

I've always heard that you want a warm engine and transmission that's been driven. And you check the level with the engine running and the transmission in neutral. Now if I could just find the dipstick on my Tundra V-8 I would be in business. The Toyota manual doesn't tell you. :(

    corned beef

Well canned spaghetti is yucky! I'll agree there. I tried some Chef Boy R Dee something or other the other day and that was really crappy too. No taste.

    corned beef

I picked up a can of corned beef hash the other day at Wally. I remember it as pretty good as a teen growing up. Always carried a can on Boy Scout camp outs. It's corned beef mixed with little potatoe squares. Made great sandwiches. Also good in a skillet with eggs. One of these mornings I'll...

    Everything's better when wet

Get a "buddy board", the kind used on bunk beds. I posted a pic last year of what it looks like. It allows the mattress to breathe. If the moisture has no place to escape it will just build up till you have the mold back. Slats work just as well. Someone mentioned IKEA as a source for bed...

    For budgeters who hate math

I pay everything with one credit card that I pay off monthly. I keep all my credit receipts in a weekly envelope. That way I can find the receipt easily if I need it to verify a properly charged item. Easy to find. I keep medical receipts in another envelope. And then my credit card company...

Fixed misfire, now tune up time. Any precautions? Also, rust falling under the plugs?

I'm experiencing a similar vibration with my 2006 V8 Tundra pickup. I have 168k in miles.  I had the transmission serviced, per the manual, at 100k along with flushing the brake system. I've owned my Toyota since new and never a problem with it.  Always done the services to it in the manual.  ...

Love the trucks in the background. If I was younger and still restoring vehicles I would make an offer. :)

    Sales Taxes in your area.

I live in Florida so what gsfish said works for me, although sales tax is less in Chipley where most of my shopping is done. But I go up to Alabama for my gas as its 15 to 20 cents cheaper due to our higher gas tax. Worth the 8 mile trip up to an Alabama gas pump. Yet their sales tax is 9 or...

    Lump of coal....

What part of north Florida are you in? I'm in NW Florida about 13 miles above Bonifay. Nice platform to work with. Can't beat the price for what you have there.   I looked at a fiberglass trailer in Chipley the other day but it was really old and run down and he still wanted 1200 dollars. As...

    Rodents

Read somewhere that Irish spring soap is a deterrent for mice. Don't know about rats. They may use it to clean up for all I know. :)

    altitude

I'm 69. About 5 years ago I put my Yamaha XP-225 in the back of the pickup and drove out to Silverton, Colorada, elevation 9500'. I met up with 8 fellow XP-225 owners and we road the high passes for a week. They went up to 13,000 feet. The continental divide crosses back and forth over the...

Questions for setting up a solar system

Why not get the 12 volt car adapters for the laptop and cell phone and forget the inverter. The losses in inverting can run 110% sometimes more on cheapos. You need to add up all the amps that the devices draw. But remember these are worse cases for peak uses. You can charge the kindle from...

    Missing Piece of Technology

I seem to remember an RV system that used the exhaust to incinerate the black water contents and maybe grey water. This was in the early 60's when I first became interested in traveling with your house. I imagine the tree hugers killed it some how or other.
