At my age, 66, why in the world would I choose to try to be "right" now?  I used to try, but failed miserably so, now I don't try, I am just ME.  lol
I am also at my 60s and I don't want to be more right. Lol

Gotta watch out for people in their 60's. They think they can retire and do anything... anything they please. Including responding to postings more than two years old. Definitely not right.

Of course you are all correct in wanting that guy who likes to fix things and can lift stuff over his head. Those are critical virtues in a man when you own stuff that needs fixing.

I already met my guy through an internet dating site who can lift things overhead and loves to fix things and make things. Of course if I ever wear him out I might have to go shopping for a new one. But he is still holding up pretty good for a 76 year old dude. When I met him he said "I am never going to be retired". I snared him with the line in my personal add that said...."I think going to the hardware store is a great dating activity".

As to younger guys, I would have to spend too much time teaching them how to fix stuff and they would get mad if I tried to show them how it should be done. I have no patience with people who can't be trained properly.

But yesterday I did find an old dude, must be in his 80s to do some welding on the trailer frame. Bonus points, he comes complete with fancy Titanium knees and his own welding machine! Also he is not charging for labor, just for supplies. He just likes to work on projects and restore vintage vehicles. Of course it is my 1971 sexy little travel trailer whose body frame appeals to him, not mine. An attitude in a man that I certainly don't mind in the least.

OK so that is my YARC application, a true story of how I met the guy I have been hanging around with for the last 16 years and the temporary on loan new guy who I met as a fix-up, friend of a friend thing. I had my everyday male friend call his house so the wife would not think another woman was after him. You got to be careful borrowing someone else's every day fix-it-man so that the other woman does not get bent out of shape over it.

This afternoon I installed an AC unit in my trailer!

I've just finished a 64 day work week. My last day off was July 4th. This has been my summer schedule for the last 25 years.

On the plus side though, I love my job! I go to work to play!

Got ya beat Queen cause if I close either one of my eyes everything looks all squirmy and wavy just like a fun house mirror.

I can't see straight and that just ain't right, but it can be pretty amusing to close one eye and look at stuff if I get bored sitting around waiting on someone.  Wow, did you realize your head looks just like the Terminator having a melt down?

Both eyes open they do some wave cancellation cause the waves are in opposite directions. Just like how noise wave cancellation headsets work.

My specialist eye doctor says....go forth and wander where you will. You don't need to come back anymore. A polite way of saying I am now a hopeless head case and "we have done all we can, you won't be getting any better or any worse".

Maki2 I had a similar problem in 1995 and it was a pituitary tumor pinching an optic nerve. Had it removed and been seeing very well ever since. An MRI was necessary to find the problem.  My first experience with the VA and I've been using them ever since.  Just try to buy health insurance if you have had an issue involving your pituitary gland sometime.

(Everyone in the YARC is excused from reading the last lines of a posting cause they don't never have to get it right)

But I knew someone would think I had done nothing about it which is why I added that line. I have insurance (medicaid plus supplemental) and a retinal specialist and I have had 3 surgeries for this issue that is unlikely to happen to average people but of course I am an exceptional person so that means I am bound to get lots of bad stuff happening to me. Being exceptional can be the pits!

My issue was caused because I was blind as a bat near sighted which means I have size extra long eyeballs. I am not going to bore people with the details but if you want to know here is a link about what created my wavy vision. It is unlikely to happen to "normal" folks. So if you are normal you don't have to read this dreck. https://www.asrs.org/patients/retinal-diseases/9/posterior-vitreous-detachment

Speaking of tumors. I am having a tumor removed later this month, along the side of my right eye. The surgeon said the worst thing resulting from the surgery will be a raised right eyebrow. I might be walking around with a perpetual quizzical look , not enough to scare the wee ones though. The adults OTOH may be wary depending on their maturity level and understanding of ain't rightness.

Half in the Shadows
Good luck in the OP !

If you keep your eyes open as wide as you can , they get totally freaked out and won't notice your eyebrow at all..........

Or I could be less conspicuous by wearing a monocle!

creepy cool :D , Klink ,the next sound you hear will be skeletons ,,, coming towards you !

Halloween is soon and that means you can get away with most any kind of look. The odder the better. Yesterday in a local independent coffee house frequented by YARC types one of the women had a Spock eyebrows look as part of her personal expression statement.

Thought I would check in. Must be a lot of ain't rightness going on.  I myself have been in a quandary due to my recent run of rightness. I feel unbalanced.

Thanks for the encouragement Popeye! I think I will look through a toilet paper tube and narrow my view of the world. Too much stimulus otherwise.  Perhaps my upcoming surgery will rectify things.
