Nice, I do love me some Foghat--this is one I had not heard. I'm back in high school drinkin beer out in the country.

I found this guy's voice to be an acquired taste but great Americana singer/songwriter

Frankie Lee "(I don't want to know) John"
Sentimental tune

I recently found an awesome interactive map of the U.S. and Canada that provides a unique Spotify playlist depending on your region, it's made on Tableau. I found it via the VanHeads.com email newsletter (which is fantastic). The map can be found here: https://bit.ly/3aQU30B

Also I'm listening to mostly country: Eric Church, Chris Young, Rodney Atkins, Morgan Wallen

I provide a direct link to a van life community member-created open-source interactive music map, which is fascinating and relevant and furthers your thread, and then specifically mention artists I'm listening to, with a side note that says where someone can find content similar to it if curious, and you have nothing positive to say and decide instead to scold me. Does that make you feel... good?

My feelings are irrelevant. Thinly veiled doesn't need explaining, that's why it's called thinly veiled.

I had already seen do the same thing in other subforums

I asked politely.

Perhaps you would be better served starting your own thread as opposed to hijacking this one.

This artist has some pieces that are just beautifully written prose, dark and lighthearted. I have been exploring his work lately.

The White Buffalo "Widow's Walk"

Hmmm, since an off topic thing happened here we better close this thread too...

I'm good either way.
It's probably served it's purpose

Just a bit of sarcasm to express my disapproval of the excessive thread closures and deleted posts.

I understand moderation is necessary because boys and girls tend to misbehave online, though in my experience they rarely do when talking face to face. During a normal (in person) group discussion/conversation the original topic is often sidetracked and multifaceted. This keeps it lively, interesting and natural.

When this happens on this forum it is frowned upon and subject to censorship and heavy handed moderation. Kinda kills it for me sometimes, not much fun. I know this is the way it is and hopefully I am allowed to talk about it even though things aren't likely to change...

Back on topic, this is one of the best threads and thank you for starting it!

Here is an appropriate theme for the atmosphere here. If you've listened to the whole story told on Rush 2112 you know what I'm talking about.
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

If you'll look into crvl Mission/Vision/Goals type things, you'll understand better.
It's different here, planned that way, it seems.

I try to contribute some and have been gifted with a ton of help from here.
So I interact differently here, or try to.

I have other places I can be controversial at.
BUT, lol, I bow up pretty quick sometimes.

It's not up to me, I don't run anything around here, but keeping the thread on topic is an intention of mine.

Peace

now back to your regularly scheduled program. which is what are you listening to. highdesertranger

Gotta hear this. It's Dr. Seuss meets Stone Temple Pilots

Small Town Titans "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch"

A liitle too Jim Carry/ Adam Sandler for me, but the Johnny Cash and Queen covers by them on the Youtube side links are pretty cool.
Nice Basement/ garage rig--must not have a wife inside (at least one like mine).

My taste in music is strange - I Don't like 99% of what has been done in the last 40 years but - My kids listened to a group called "9 inch nails" I could not stand it. Then Johnny Cash covered their song "Hurt" and in my mind it is one of his best ever. The symbolism is a mixture of the drug culture (which Cash knew all to well) and The crucifiction of Christ and more. And the video is just as moving as his singing. . I don't know why I could enjoy such a mournfully depressing song but I do.

Man in Black holds a special place in my heart and "Hurt" moved me more than any of his other work.
It's a touchstone for me.

But I like NIN too!
