I've had Visible+ since early Dec and have been using it full time for the last 5 weeks. It's so cheap it seems like it should be "too good to be true", but I've been very impressed so far. It just works. I was already paying $27/mo with tax for Verizon's crappiest prepaid plan, so...

The other place were I was camping had poor reception, but I was amazed I had any at all. As such the internet was between none and pretty good, depending. Here I barely have LOS to the towers maybe 10 miles away, and 2 bars most of the time, and the internet works great. No issues that I've noticed at all.

It's not like being on cable or fiber or some $100+ cell hotspot plans, as data is limited to 10mb/s, and the $20 plan is half that, so if you "require" streaming high rez video it may not be ideal. But I don't do that anyway, I download movies and such for later viewing. I got no complaints regarding how quick it loads pages.

Visible+ has 50GB/mo of priority data which I haven't exceeded, and the cheaper one has none, so that might make a difference.

In researching, the common issues seem to be poor CS (bot driven), and some older phones can't be used.

Am I missing something? Seems like a no brainer.

Oh, I should mention the price ends in 4 days! Maybe then it will get even cheaper...

Nice! I keep having to up my plan when I'm on the road, and this is cheaper than all but my lowest plan (T-Mobile prepaid).

Visible uses Verizon towers, which have much better coverage than Tmobile. ATT has good coverage and is maybe better than Verizon in remote areas.

this sounds like a great deal! how has the speed and reliability been for you in more remote areas? I travel a lot and need a good connection for work.

We had Visible for a few years & liked it until they made a change & we had to get a new phone & never got it working as you can't talk to anyone. We tried for a long time but finally gave up & went to Consumer Cellular which has the best customer service I've seen in years.

I dropped Verizon and their 3 line unlimited plan at $145 a month. 3 lines were a chromebook, a mifi mobile hotspot and my cell line.
I looked at Visible and tried to their unlimited prepaid at $45 a month. Been using it with my cells hotspot for 16 months now. Works great with laptop/chomebook and of course my cell.
Why I hesitated so long was the concern with zero person contact. I thought this would never work for me as I do everything on-line. Well, it works just fine. No issues.

I have the + plan which supposedly has 50GB/mo of priority data. So far it has worked very well if I can get a reliable signal, and should be the same as any regular Verizon plan.

Speed is capped at 10Gb/s (note the small b) which could interfere with 4k streaming I guess, but that would be a dumb thing to do anyway.

I have no cap at all but have on the rare occasion been throttled but only for a minute or so. Regardless I watch youtube videos with no issue. A 15 minute video consumes 90MB to 750MB of data depending on video quality. I stumbled across my data usage for my cell the past month and was really surprised at the 260GB consumption. Those were 90% videos. Amazing and for a locked in 3 year price of $45 a month.

^ That's interesting, apparently they've changed the terms of the + plan to discourage heavy use.

Yes, I limit youtube streaming and download movies and TV. I've been able to stay under 50GB/mo so far... and if I go over I guess I'll be throttled the same as the regular plan.

I've heard good things about Visible, especially for travelers and van lifers. The unlimited hotspot for $20-$30 seems like a solid deal, especially using Verizon’s network. I might have to give it a try next time I’m on the road. Have you noticed any slowdowns during peak hours?

Ruff, I'm asking this not only for me but others who may not be as savvy. I have internet in the sticks & bricks so I have no problems. But if I go on the road I check out a hotspot from my Public Library which is good for three weeks use. (totally free)

When you mention downloading Movies & TV, you are using this "hotspot" right ? And it uses less of your bandwidth budget than streaming ?

Do you download into a folder you've set up for this and then use a media player to open the files into ?

Thanks for any elaboration.

It can slow down and peak hours are a factor, but there are other factors as well. I have issues at my LTVA, may be so for all peak season. Also, at my tourist town home during events.

Early/very early morning generally works for me.

No I use Visible through the phone, and turn on the hotspot setting. The laptop then can connect to the phone wirelessly as well.

I download movies and TV via torrent sites, and store them on drives. Usually you have several choices for file size and quality. Any media player can be used; I use VLC. Using a VPN is also a good idea.

I've had Visible since June of 2023. Started with the basic and moved to the + version about 9 months ago. It's worth the extra money. The basic version would slow down to a crawl in the evening, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. I use it for a hotspot for my tablet and laptop. The + version has consistently given me enough speed to download and stream what I need. Not a lot of headroom, but it gets the job done.

Originally, I was using the free phone that came with the initial sighup deal...a low end TCL unit. It was functional, but not much more. If you go on their site and look up compatible phones, you will get a lot of false negatives. I deciceded to try my unlocked Tracfone Moto G Stylus by just switching the SIM, and it has worked without a hitch since.

It's provided very reliable and economical service, and I will be continuing with it.
