Yep, even Cows are NOT native to the USA... Bison are. Cows came from Europe by man's hand. Same with horses. Not a single one here before European man.

Bark Beetles area actually 100% naturally RE-occuring thing.
Bark beetles are native insects that have shaped the forests of North America for thousands of years. Bark beetles range from Canada to Mexico and can be found at elevations from sea level to 11,000 feet.

Without natural acts (such as the bark beetle and fire) the forests would be allowed to run wild and over-populate the land (before man started cutting them all down of course).
 
The dangers of introduced flora and fauna can be a tricky thing. I personally think we Floridians are going to miss our feral Pythons once the scourge of the fast-breeding Gambian Giant Brown Rat really gets going........ :)
