I am always interested in equipment / gear that make life on the road better, easier or more enjoyable. I was wondering if other form members can share with everyone what is the one (or 2, or 3) piece(s) of equipment that they can't live without..... that's to say, what is your favorite thing you take with you on the road?

I would say my thermal cooker and my inflatable Kayak are my 2 favorite things I take on the road with me

This may not be as glamorous as it should be... But it is my 5 gal. bucket Loo with seat... Seems i am a little shy dropping trough with people in sight out here boondocking and when ya gotta go ya just gotta go... So it is light, maintenance free, and highly portable allowing me the freedom to go in my van, do my business and return out side with the bucket to store away till next time and no one is the wiser... It is just one less hassle in life when the nosy RV neighbors move in a bit to close for comfort...
I love these type questions, cause I love gear

dog.
kayak.
knife collection (counts as one, right?)
marmot aspen down ultralight sleeping bag.

stop me now....

My beagle, but if it has to be equipment then I'll have to go with my Jetboil stove.

my laptop but the most important is my psp (playstation portable) I have modified it so that I can use it as a book reader (think I have about 100 books on it right now) I can also watch a movie or play a game on it... and it fits in my hand
...Fleece lined sleeping bag, fleece blanket, down blanket, flannel sheets and flannel pillow.. Nice and cozy even when it's cold... Katie

When you live and travel mostly in the deep south, it's a fan. I have one that uses batteries and will run on shore power. I wouldn't be able to sleep in the warm months witout it! Oh, yea, my motorcycle, never leave home without it!

Since our B is completely equipped, it would be difficult to pick a must have item in the every-day living sense.

Our bikes let us get out and around without moving the van, and using gas. We're often close enough to a store or something that we can ride our bikes to for resupply. Else we just ride them for fun and exercise.

The second would be the wifi iPad. (no 3G). It holds street maps, Topo maps, books, music and video. One can write with it, photoshop photos, spreadsheets for budgets, etc. a myriad of uses in a package the right size for van dwelling.

Hard to narrow it down, but:

Solar panels and battery bank

Verizon internet connection and laptop

Propane stove

12 volt compressor fridge

Sirius satellite radio

DVD player and collection

Honda 2000 generator

Bob

My little white noise machine to mask a lot of the nuisance noise at night while I'm trying to sleep. Light sleeper here. Runs on 4 AA batteries.

Johnny, I don't follow the "baby bum wipes" post?
-AK

The thread is One Thing You Can't Live Without......
When I'm on the road and have not had access to hot water and a shower the baby wipes are great for a quick way to freshen up. I hope this clears things up for you. LOL

I looked at those Sevylor Colorado's but the new design doesn't have a skeg and I was concerned about how well they tracked.
