I am in an apartment for the moment, waiting for all the details to be set so I can hit the road doing solar presentations around the midwest.

The little monsters that live across the street (7 to 11 years old) seem to have access to a large amount of fireworks, from bottle rockets on up.  A few minutes ago something hit my window and exploded.  I walked outside and watched four little bodies running around the side of the apartment.

The guy next door with the new truck also came out and we were quietly laughing at the kids came sneaking back.

I remember having wire sparklers covered with a toxic smelling flamable stuff that would brand any kid dumb enough to be careless.  Mexican M80's equal to 1/2 stick of dynamite.  Tubes that we would chase each other with shooting flaming balls.

The kids today have it much safer, but the parents seem to be a lot more stupid.  If my mother had seen what I was doing I would not have been able to sit for a week!  Those kids are doing it while their parents are in the house.  Today I had to run them out of the dumpster.  All of them were barefoot!

This is me personally and not saying what you should or shouldn't do, that is your choice.

I'd be looking to video them and contacting the FD. Not because I'm a hard ass, but hopefully I'd be saving someone from injury or worse.

Sorry to hear of your neighbors little monsters. I wouldn't be able to sit for a week as well.

Ah yes...... I remember fun with M80s....... I once blew the front window chrome off my Uncle's brand new 1971 Olds 98 with a badly botched throw....... Eewwww.... was he PO'd! :)

Bottle rocket wars, each team on opposite sides of a small lake. Not quite able to actually hit each other.

This is why I am moving into a 55+ apartment building.

I know better.

Back in the day when I was a kid I would launch lit cherry bombs using a Whammo wrist rocket sling shot.

Kid today with their video games have no idea of the fun it was to "play" outside back in the day.

when I was a young one I to played with them, however now that I am older I really don't see why they are legal. I am willing to bet more than a couple wild land fires will be started because of them. highdesertranger

There is the cliche of "you're gonna put your eye out with that." But my first cousin....as an adult...did exactly that when trying to adjust a firework rocket that he thought had not lit. Lost eyesight totally in his left eye. Imagine if the unsupervised kids set off something that lands in YOUR eye!

Just an addendum to wonder why most of that stuff is even legal.

Awhile back it was illegal here in Florida to buy anything that flew or exploded. Not sure if that holds true anymore, as I see that stuff sold in roadside stands now. We used to have to drive up into Alabama to get it. Now, I can drive down to near my Mom's house just south of town......

That's our society now a days. I remember when people had shame. The government has become so far overreaching, that a lot parents have given in a alow other people to raise thier kids. Thats way when a kid grows up grabs an AR and commits anevil act, its not that persons fault. They were let down by the system, not thier parents.

I have a good lady friend in Utah who retired early as a middle school teacher. The horror strories she has told me on the unexceptable behaviour these kids get away with now a days. She was telling me more and more kids aspire to be famous and wealthy, and being a fireman or truck driver is menial. What happened to pride and shame?

Sure I was mischief kid myself, but I always had to answer to the music. Got it from my Mom when I went on a bb gun rampage, got it again when Dad got off work that day. What was I thinking? I sure learned that day. Shooting windows out just to watch my friends laugh was a BAD MOVE. [emoji51]

If u think about it, the crazy things you see on the news are nothing more than tempertantruams from grown people, who were either raised by the system or lazy parents. I did my crazy stuff and was always corrected in a loving way. My Dad wont be around to much longer. My eyes started to tear up when I thanked him for keeping me on short leash.

I only have one childhood friend who isn't dead or locked up for like. He was kept in check like I was. Go figure.

Well then.. I'm starting to feel fortunate all I get out here is lots of golf cart traffic, loud music, and a free fireworks show. (They do LOTS of fireworks in my 'hood' twice a year.. saves me a lot of money!:):)

Those kids have been at it all day.  There are about 8 of them that are "home schooled" and have been at it with a lot of rockets today.  The police do not even bother to come out.

I will be glad when this holiday is over.

We have had so much rain here, they closed down one walmart because the roof was not draining fast enough.  I wish I could send this west.  No chance of fires here.
