How do you clean it? Will it survive the washing machine?    -crofter

I usually hand wash mine (because, well, I don't own a washer or have running water in my S&B) but you can wash on gentle, cold water. Line dry also the best for longevity. I can't recall if line dry is required  by manuf, I just always line dry.

Great now I can finally get those booties I’ve always wanted a pair. I can’t wear wool just touching it makes me itch. I knit and I can touch a yarn and feel if it’s mixed with wool. I wear fleece but I’m going to need to buy some socks.
I wonder if anyone has one of those small bucket type washing machines? Do they work on light clothes?

This is what I have used for over two  years in my S&B for me and my grandson when he lived with me, including his jeans.

Paired with a giant salad spinner thing by Avalon, it handled all but sheets, which I just washed in the tub.  But I live pretty rustic even in my S&B, so, take that into consideration ?

Wash often and in small loads and it should suffice for all but filthy clothes.

Yes, that’s what I was talking about. That’s great! I have to get one. So many things on my list...

Speaking of the sun, do you wear standard sunglasses or wraparounds?

I wear eyeglasses all the time, not contacts. My main glasses are prescription transition lenses with anti glare coating. I also have an older pair of polarized prescription lenses, but they make it hard to read some types of digital displays. They go black unless I tilt my head to the side.

I know someone who needs extremely dark sunglasses, so she uses clip-on sunglasses on her sunglasses.

So much advice/opinions about cold weather clothing. But what about hot weather?

...a flannel nightshirt...

That reminded me of a time I was overnighting at a trailhead near Kanab UT when a guy in a truck camper stepped out dressed in flannel pajamas with matching smoking jacket and slippers. Quite the ensemble. Very dapper, especially by boondocker standards. I half expected him to have a pipe and cognac. Hell, I just sleep in my underwear.

Your friend there was obviously a Hugh Hefner fan, MrN.

I had thought about getting flannel sheets for winter travel in the van, as regular cotton sheets are rather cold to the touch, but thought the flannel nightshirt would add a bit of warmth when getting out of the sack in the middle of the night to take a leak when it's below freezing in the van. Preferable to doing it in the total buff. I suppose some people just wear pajamas.

I just bought a couple of silk tops to wear as undershirts. IMNSHO, absolutely nothing compares to silk when it comes to warmth and comfort.
Do you have a better source than Winter Silks?
