I'm sure many of you have already found this site (and given my inability to remember ANYTHING, it may already be posted here), but I wanted to share Ventusky:  https://www.ventusky.com/?p=27.7;-78.4;4&l=temperature

I could spend hours playing on that site, so much information offered in a beautiful visual package.

Enjoy!

(and anyone who knows about bandwidth stuff, please post up if this uses a lot, I really don't know)

Very cool - That's a definite bookmark. I don't think I've ever followed the weather like I do now. I'm, VERY glad I didn't head down to Galveston right now.

Be sure to put on some good 60's background music - I'm thinking 'White Rabbit'

Thanks

I found it when I was searching for wave info after the last Hurricane in FL and forgot to bookmark it then. Found it again a few days ago and am really enjoying watching the patterns. FL has some big storm warnings today coupled with record heat... insanely cool to watch it develop!

Be sure to click on all the tabs on the left, "thunderstorms" is really interesting, especially when they're happening in a large area like the SE right now.

Pan out to the full global view and you'll see that band of thunderstorms completely encircling the equator. Got to be some rough seas out there.

I keep watching the wind patterns, it's like seeing music.

I was not aware of this particular site.  Thank you for the link.

I am familiar with Windtyty, which appears very similar in many ways.

Nice, very similar.  I used to watch waves for surfing, now I just enjoy keeping track of them.  A friend of mine is a former pro surfer and she teaches classes at the local beach, so I watch weather when I know she'll be out as well.

I started being a weather geek back in high school when I started lifeguarding.  Always had one eye on the water and one on the sky.
