"As a child he believed the parade was a celebration of his birthday!"

LOL, Ta:

I always thought the parade, picnic and fireworks were for my July 2nd birthday.

Nature Lover:

I live in Volusia County, work in Orange County, have the P.O. Box in Seminole County and enjoy dolphin watching in Brevard County...being a nomad should come easier when I go full time that for most that are used to just one area.

Hello - it is another rainy day here. I checked the weather app an noticed rain is expected for every one of the upcoming seven days. At least they didn't mention snow.

Not much to report here. I'm just carrying on. It is nice to have a place to relax.

Travelaround I know what you mean about having a place to relax. That is one of the readons why I do longer stays at camp sites when possible if I find a good spot for it.

Went to take a shower at the laundromat in Quartzsite today. The shower was extremely clean and the people I passed by were masked, which is not always the case in town or even in that facility. The price just jumped this morning to $9.00 but at least it includes a towel, washcloth, soap, shampoo, the water is good and hot with decent pressure. Plus it is sanitized between use. It is  less than the cost at Loves Truckstop and not as crowded of a location.

After that I have spent the day eorking on cutting and packaging kits until I took my battery down to 80% which is when I called it quits on running the cutting machine and laptop. I want some reserve energy for my fridge and for using my heater in the morning.

Yes, long campground stays provide a needed time of stability. Having to change locations every day is a bit unsettling for me. I like knowing where I'm going to sleep! Usually while traveling that way I end up at truck stops and rest areas.

Today I had a nice long Zoom chat with my sister, then did some laundry. This evening I read my books. Very quiet... I like life this way.

Another sunrise for what looks to be a lovely day for getting out of doors in the winter.

This morning I took my head out of the hole in the desert sand I am hiding out in long enough to read some of the local, national and world news and  then quickly stuck it back in the sand. I need to keep my head in a good place so I can focus on my daily needs and desires and avoid becoming yet another a sad statistic in those news reports.

Business in my Etsy store was good enough this first 5 days of 2021 to provide the funds for a brand new generator; a great start to a new year. I chose to go with an Igen 1200 from Westinghouse. It should arrive next week. For those wondering about the Honda generator, it has valve issues, needs a rebuild of the engine. I might have taken that on if I was still at the workshop space in Seattle with lots of tools and resources in the community for parts, supplies, etc. but not here and not now. I have too much work coming in from my business that needs my time and I want to get my build completed.

I found out last evening that I got a job where I'll be able to stay at home and be paid a little bit more.... Which means I can leave my really toxic current position. The new job will be a good next step in building a solid foundation with an employment agency, so I can continue to work from home; which will eventually be my home on wheels - June 2021 [emoji3496]

sierra....congrats on your new job. I suspect there are quite a few people here at Quartzsite LTVA who are working remotely. I know two of my nearby neighbors have full time jobs.

A person I visited yesterday was commenting that most people seemed to be staying in their RVs watching TV all day. That might be the case for some but things have changed a lot the last few years and working full or part time while you live in an RV is not all that uncommon now. Most especially with those persons under retirement age. I spent almost all of Sunday inside but I was not watching TV, instead  I was busy making income. Same thing with part of today.

Times are changing, time to let go of the old assumptions about what people are doing with their time in camp when they are not out and about.

Weather is nice in Bullfrog today with sunshine and 40’s outside. Fished last night but the fish are doing a good job of social distancing. We usually have 4 to 6 weeks of slow fishing. It really is too nice to not get outside here today!

Hello nomad friends been a little while since I’ve been here. I found a really nice place to stay in Florida. It’s a sticks and brick but I’ll get my own private room with a private restroom, they even help me go to the potty I get room service they come three times a day to bring me a meal it’s a wonderful place. Actually you phone your order for off of a menu and 45 minutes to come up with a meal for you pretty neat. Thank God for Medicare or I couldn’t afford it. They wound on my foot is getting much much worse no matter what we’ve been doing about it so I’m at the hospital and there is surgery tomorrow evening or Friday they are going to deep clean the wound at least and possibly if the infection is as far gone as they think it might be remove some bone. Oh joy. They wouldn’t let me leave the hospital and go 100 feet away there door to get the stuff I need it out of the van. The man and his rules. Those of you who believe in prayer Would appreciate it those of you who don’t give me well wishes. I want to get through this thing but I’m gonna be off this leg for quite some time so and it’s bills got to be a mountain even just a co-pay but I think my leg is worth it. God bless the nomads in all states of health and in all states of the union.

nature lover, I usually enjoy your posts but I certainly didn't like your latest post. I wish you the very best and hope everything works out for you.

Best wishes to you.

Allan

You have a prayer from me as well as best wishes. it is sad that you must go through this time of trouble so soon after being able to get out on thre road. O f course there is no good time for such things.

Sending prayers and best wishes.
I just realized the room you were describing is a hospital room.... i .thought you found a room mate situation/ resort place... :/

Stay positive....

Nature Lover, so glad you're getting good medical care. I just sent up my prayer for you with a request for health blessings. God bless you.

Unsettling day - I spent too much time with "the news" and not enough with my Bible. No wonder I feel off-kilter. I need to abandon the sifting sand and get back onto that solid rock.

So frustrated with the laundry situation here!! There's only one washing machine and dryer for the entire RV park, and the town's laundromat is in a terrible and depressing state of neglect. I used to work there in a side room back around 2005 - I was doing a news business and web design there. The place was then sold and the new owners have never applied new paint or spent much if any effort making the place look nice. Result - it is terrible. Just terrible. I don't like being there. So.... I took action today and ordered a very small washing machine and dryer that will fit into my trailer. Wish me luck. I must be desperate!

Get well Nature Lover, and keep close here, to tell us how it goes.
And don't chase the pretty nurses too aggressively.

Lots of nasty on the news today, I will be glad when we no longer have an abusive parent. I had a gut feeling last week that this week would suck.

Travelaroubnd you are definetly transitioniing into sticks and bricks mode with your own washer and dryer. Ii is a good plan to make room for one as you have the essentials of water, sewer and electric. The machine will quickly pay for itself.
