Hungry coyote - it took me a little time too I had to adjust my thinking.

Another day in the desert. Warm in the sun, cold in the shade. Working a few hours today cutting and packaging kits as I was out of some, too low on others. iI used to do that kind of work at night. But now I do it during prime solar hours. Short work days at this time of year.

80+ degrees today and very sunny. Spent some time parked by the Intercoastal to watch dolphins. Getting ready to make Hoppin' John for good luck in 2021. Can't remember if I did so last year, so that may explain 2020!

Gypsy Jan I can’t remember where you are. Today my thermometer said low 80s but the official one on the Internet said 85 for a high. 67% humidity so it was bearable. Bright blue beautiful skies. The low tonight is 66. No blankets here. But I will get hot because I have to shut my doors or I get skeeters. You would think that would make me faster at making those screens for my windows but I didn’t get it done yet. I’m parked under two Longleaf Pines on my left I have Live Oak with Spanish moss and on my right I have banana trees. It’s a hard life but somebody has to do it. God bless the nomads and keep them all comfortable.

Screens are easy the way Bob does them with no-see-um netting and magnets. I got both those things at his recommendation, but haven't used the net screening yet. I use the magnets all the time in the van.

I love New Year's Day. It is my father's birthday. He was raised in Pasadena, California where the Rose Parade takes place. As a child he believed the parade was a celebration of his birthday!

Yesterday the handiman I usually hire showed up at my door with a large 8-gallon canister of propane for me! That was surprising... lucky me!

What a perfect day for new beginnings.

  • It is all in my head of course because one day is much like the last. But this morning it felt liket I am supposed to tell myself that hjoliday time is over and I need to get serious about accomplishing goals. Not sure what is up with that feeling, I work the hardest during thhe holiday season, it is the opposite of a holiday break for me.Phooey on those induced feelings, that is just societal expectations the media creates, ones contributed to by commerce and religious upbringing. I just need to get on with a very normal and routine day. Starting with  breakfst and then get orders ready to take to the post office. The rest of the day will fall into place based on needs and my energy levels. There will be things I dont like doing in the day, things I enjoy and lots of neutral as to like or dislike ordinary chores that take only a little bit of effort.

Just don’t forget no counter service on holidays at the post office and some small ones like ours are only open a few hours a few days a week!

Bullfrog, businesses dont have people standing in lined at a post office. That is not value added time, that is time wasted.
I purchase postage online, print it out and s tick it to the package. All I do at the post office is drop it into their outgoing mail slot  isside the facility or in the blue outside box. But I try to do that on the days they are open for security reasons as people can and do fish the mail out of unattended boxes when nko one is around to see them.

Thirty years ago I was on the reservation teaching kids how to earn a living as welders and machinists in the uranium mines in remote parts of New Mexico. All they wanted to do was make bull spurs and get back to their grandmother’s cooking. Your right I probably will never have a need for a lot of things! Lol!!!

I have been enjoying freedom from the news and crap going on in this country.
Some may think it’s irresponsible but I just turned them off So I was surprised today that there was an extra $600 in my checking account thank you Uncle Sam for giving me a little bit of my money back. I was hoping to go for the 2K but any little bit helps. God bless the nomads everyone of us.

They are vaccinating everyone in FL over 65 years of age so go get yours. You may have to camp out but that's no hill for a stepper.  -crofter

Been notiving on my weather app that the coldest temperatures of the 24 hour period are from 6 am to 8 am.

Well then it sure does make good sense if you dont have a good heat source to sleep in until a bit after sunrise, right on up to about 9am when the temp does a rise.  not that I ever needed much persuasion to be more of a night owl instead of an early riser. i dont need to catch worms snyway,  there no fish swimming in the dry desert wash  behind my trailer.

Warmest time of day is between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM when I get in my 1/2 hour walk that takes me an hour! Not many people around at that time as well!

Kicked my covers part way off tbe bed so woke up early as i got cold. Turned on the heaterr, made coff, found another 2 orders for kits had come in, both of them for multtiple sets. Lots of work to do and off to a great start for tne new business year. It will sliow back down to normal levels this spring. This surge is no doubt related to that other surge with people. needing some indoor craft activities to entertain themselves with this winter. I would suspect that craft sales for most indoor hobbies are above normsl levels up this winter. Especially the downloads for free stuff will be a huge jump over normal.

The park has had over 130% visitation all year. More people are desperate for something to do.
