    hammock/bed size/air mattress

Search for "hammocks" on this forum. I have done a hammock several ways. Straps over the roof (they leak in the rain) then back into the van. Bolted a tie down bracket into the roof frame. The gutter area and the B-pillar or very strong. Presently doing this. 3 years. no issues. The rope can...

    Best sewn-to-fit cover/tarp for TT?

Covers are basically disposable items. The elements sooner or later degrade them. A big cheap blue tarp has worked for 1,000's over the years. After a year or two you replace them.

1994 Dodge B250-Where can I get the overdrive on/off button assy?

Check your fuses and breakers? You are not stranded. The van still runs and drives, right? You just can't use or shift back up into OD? Any Dodge OD switch from that era should work? Like the others said, check the pin set-up on yours, and look at the pics on the web. Measure your switch and...

Anyone tried a hammock in a van?

My  van isn't extended or a hi-top. Honda Odyssey. All rear seats removed. My hammock hangs diagonally across the rear cargo area. You don't pull a hammock tight. The sag is what works best, for a number of reasons. Then your body lays diagonally. Hammocks are cooler..the air can get around...

Too many options and decisions, flooring help, ideas, insight please.

I would just leave the floor as is, and seal out the nasties with the sheet aluminum. Tearing out the whole floor can be way more work and structurally (near) impossible to do. The flooring is used to hold the framework true and square. 9 times out of 10 the frame is floored first, then the...

    Sleep in a 'sedan'?

Air mattresses are cold. Period. You need a few layers between you and an air mattress to keep warm. Foam is better on the cheap. Air mats are available with fill to keep the convection down. But normally cost more. And eventually are mats will leak. Air mats do not breathe since they are mostly...

    Do you LOVE coffee?

I use a Jetboil with the French press. Very fast at making hot water, very! The pot has fins on the bottom that work as a heat sink. I can boil 2-3 cups in 2-3 minutes.

CT ceiling in nose, cutting insulation, angle, how?

Taping together several pages of the newspaper will give a cheap template. Measuring out the shape, transfer to the template. Leave extra as you fine tune the shape to exact fit. Test fit as you go, till desired results are achieved. If you mess up, add extra paper and tape, and re do.

Ask for a 20,000 mile warranty. Parts and labor. That should end the phone calls. Look around. See how many Renault's you see driving around? Call your local mechanic and ask if they work on Renault's?

    Rear Doors

Also, These doors can be damaged when left open in the wind. A strong gust can slam the door open and "spring" the hinge or body. There is usually a keeper (strap or metal bracket) to hold the door at a semi- open position, but does not allow for a full swing. If a previous owner took off the...

    Rear Doors

Clean and lube the mechanism. Some dirt or debris may be affecting the travel of the latch. Check how much latch is actually engaging in the strike plate. You may need a shim under the strike plate? Check that the gasket is not interfering with door closure? Check that all bolts and screws are...

    Window question

The "express access" option has been around a while. From the looks of my searching the net, 2007. I've seen a few and thought neato, but then thought how would you insulate the sides and still have access to the shelving from both inside and outside.?? Cool factory option, maybe not for a...

Want to use HHR for Travel

The truck or van?? if the truck. You could probably fit a thin mattress in the back. Low profile bed of the HHR makes it tricky. It'd be very tight. Does the tailgate have an opener on the inside? If not, I'm sure one could disassemble the tailgate and modify a pull cord type opener. A section...
