    Water damaged vans?

wasnt sure where to put this so..... In another thread, Optimistic Paranoid warned about water damaged vehicles hitting the market. I didn't want to high jack the thread so I will ask here. Is it okay to buy a water damaged van if you know about it first? If so, what needs to be looked at and...

    Creek water for bathing question

I would imagine that the vast majority of dwellers get their water from public water but I was wondering how many use creek/river water for bathing? On YouTube is a guy who uses creek water for this and it started me to thinking about it. A few weeks ago a doctor out of Berkeley gave us some of...

    Solar Cooking?

I was wondering how many of the dwellers out there use solar ovens/dehydrators? I know they can be a bit bulky but they use free energy, the sun.  Or is this way of cooking and heating water more suited for S&B use? So like I said, just wondering. John

    Make money on the road?

Just wanted to start a new thread on making money on the road as one of the other ones has apparently turned into to some kind of venomous religion bashing contest. (sigh)  I read somewhere that some people show up for beet harvesting? What is this about? Are there any other seasonal jobs that...

    Money with arts and crafts?

Reading the posts on here, I get the idea that a lot of dwellers are retired or close to it and living of some form of retirement/government income. Well God bless you and I hope to get there someday too. :D What I was wondering is how many of you make extra money from selling arts and crafts...

    Coleman Lanterns?

Just wondering what dwellers use for camp light now-a-days? Probably LED? The reason I ask is I was at the thrift store looking for old computer hardware to torture and stumbled on an old green Coleman lantern for $15. Looked like it was in great shape but was heavy as heck! Anyon still use...

Laptops, tablets and low voltage alternative?

Just wondering what most dwellers are using for Internet and daily computing and why. I would imagine it's mostly laptops and iPads. Anyone using low voltage alternatives like the Raspberry PI or the Intel Compute Stick? Just wondering.... John

    Wiring for a CPAP.

The CPAP: it's a life and death situation. We don't like to admit it, but it is true. It is a life and death problem we live with on a nightly situation. For many of us, it's a genetic problem. For some, it's a eating problem.  Life can be cruel.  How do you deal with it out in the wild away...

    Cash or Credit?

Just wondering what most of you do in the field. Do you mostly deal in cash or mostly credit cards? Why on either one? I would think credit/debit cards are the easiest way to do things but I also like cash as it's nobody's business what I am doing. Saying all this, I also realize it's just a...

    Hash Browns!!!

Found something new (for me anyway).  Idahoan Premium Hash Browns. You should be able to find them around the freeze dried instant mashed potato packs at about a buck a piece. Makes about two cups and taste pretty good. John

    Hi! Cool site

Hi, May name is John. Found this place by accident but think it's kinda cool. I have been fascinated by the idea of tiny home living for a while now but there are too many pitfalls that go with it. The idea of van dwelling looks to make a neat compromise between the idea of tiny home and RV...
