Got an 'Access Pass' by just presenting VA paperwork to downtown National Park Service office.
Was as easy as that! Someone's going to be hanging out at National Parks like he lives there!

My family and I inherited the Grandparents summer home 3 years ago, we quickly discovered that 12 of us owning it was never going to work as there were too many cooks in the kitchen. We listed it and then quickly pulled it off the market when my cousin said she wanted it. Two years later, delay after delay, lots of aggravation and fighting among family, we finally have a closing date as of today, barring any unforeseen circumstances, she should be the new owner on the 20th and I get a little bit of money to put into a van build.

A sunny day with cotton candy clouds and pastel blue skies. A scenic drive through back road forests, no traffic, a mountain pass stop off with picnic tables, a majestic panoramic vista view with ranch flavored chicken wings for lunch. Multi sensory contentment.
Good for the soul, the eyes and the yummy tummy.

My Walmart is right across the street from the beach. And has an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet nearby.  I'm happy.  :)

I'm in California for a few days visiting my two grandsons, ages 4 and almost 2.  Told Mommy and Daddy to go out and I'd watch the boys.  The two yr old went right to bed and when I checked on him, he had removed his socks and put them on his hands like mittens, sitting up in his crib just laughing at himself.  Put the socks back on his feet and told him, "Leave your socks on and go nite nite."  Five minutes later, he'd done it again.  Three times and I just took away the socks.  He just giggled and laid down and finally went to sleep.  What a cutie!  Those socks on his hands and he was so proud of himself, sitting in his crib just laughing.  It was hard not to laugh with him.

We went to the Halloween store for costumes.  The older boy has been a fireman the last two years, this year he wants to be a "cop".  Got him a policeman costume and he's been wearing it for two days, strutting along, carrying around a post it note pad and a red pen, writing tickets to everybody!  What a hoot! Again, it's "serious business" being a cop so I'm stifling the laughter.

Only four days this visit but I'm happy.

And this hotel has a bath tub and unlimited hot water. No explanation necessary.

I'm chomping at the bit to leave home and get out in the van.  Though I'd rather be on the road already, I am grateful for my bathtub, long showers, my oven, the washer and dryer, and using any lights and power that I want.  Happy to see the green in my backyard.

what made everyone happy or made them smile.

Finding out the cat I ran over with my van last night is OK and seems no worse for wear.

He was sleeping under my van in the carport and I didn't see him.  I backed right over his body with my right, front tire.  It felt like I was running over a sandbag.

This morning, however, I saw him in his (her?) usual spot, looking no different than usual.   :)

I guess they really do have 9 lives.

Heart warming news, yay!
And wonderful fall foliage to add warmth and ambiance to the news.
Fall is my fav time of year. Crisp cool nights, warm sunny days and vibrant trees is what I am thankful for.IMG_20171018_125923-640x480.jpg

Waking up the morning and hearing Pete sleeping peacefully beside me...
:)

Today I went on a Clearwater, FL boat trip that was absolutely relaxing and a lot of fun. Love the ocean and Tampa bay. Almost no traffic on a Sunday. The day was PERFECT.

I never knew that a tune-up and a secured clamp on the engine cover would make me feel so happy, but it does!  A completed repair is making me happy today.
