Aaak!  This totally freaked me out.  My daughter, a singer/songwriter with Celtic leanings, recently had a hurdy gurdy made for her.  The only other time I've seen one was in Santa Fe, played by a busker.  Too cool.

 I was ignorant of the hurdy gurdy until recently. This was posted somewhere, I liked it and looked up some info, they are quite complex in many variants, and go back about 1000 years. Really awesome instrument, which Patty plays well.

 She has a vid I believe describing many of the functions and features of her machine.

I am totally interested and I thank you for mentioning it. I had missed it in the earlier post. This is one of the coolest instruments I have seen and I would love to have one and share one.(great gift)  A violin/bagpipe.. with a crank too..??.. this is awesome. Every home should have one!
