I just activated visible yesterday. Ordered Sunday evening late. "Overnight shipping" hoped for monday. Supposed to come Tuesday. Due to weather that was a no go. Then they never loaded it on a truck. I had to call corporate to get it on a damn truck. It spent "overnight" in a terminal. Sat for nearly 24h in my local warehouse.

Anyway. How does party pay work? Everyone gets $25/month if more than 4 in the party. I know that.

Do they know my name? My online user ID? My phone number? Or just a group of strangers that get a discount?

I'm highly antisocial...you guys are ok... but only cuz I can log out. (No offense) I dont want to join a social media like experiment for only $15/mo savings.

How's it work? Do you have a party? Should I not do it?

Thanks in advance.

You can join my party which is perfectly safe and no one knows your name or anything about you. PM me if you wish to join. Best wishes...

I've been on visible since December love it .I have no idea who is in my group. Have little WiFi router from Amazon it all works great.

reddit has the visible party pay group to join a group if you can't find one here.

I joined a largish party using the Reddit link along with about a 1000 of my unknown party members. If you go big, there is no danger in membership dropping below 4, which would mean your bill would jump up a few dollars until a new number 4 joins your group. No, nobody needs to know any of the other members. It just seems to be a marketing gimmick by Visible to get you to sign up your friends and neighbors. I do like Visible, but it is pretty slow in my neighborhood, especially mid day, but the speed picks up again later in the afternoon most days. Speed just seems to depend on how busy the cell towers are at any given time, and if you live in a less people packed area, you may end up with relatively high speeds (30+ instead of the 5mbps they promote)!

So no caveats or pitfalls joining a party plan. If I remember, on Reddit I received a group code after I joined a party, then entered that code into my Visible account page, and my bill dropped from $40 to $25 the following month.

I have been living on the road for one year and been using Visible since March of 2021 (15 months) now and am very happy with it. Unlike other third party cellphone providers (Cricket, Boost, etc.) Visible is actually owned by Verizon. It's called "deprioritized," and yet, I have only had maybe 4 times in 15 months where the circuit was too busy. All that meant was that I had to wait 2 or 3 minutes to make the call.

I assumed that I would need the wifi at Starbucks, etc. for internet, but haven't had to at all. I turn my phones hotspot on and have unlimited internet for my iPad and the Macbook Pro. Having UNLIMITED DATA (not fake "unlimited" data like many cell providers say they have) is incredible because it allows me to stream video and update my iTunes, etc. as much as I want. I stream Youtube and Spotify while driving and don't even think about the data. Remember, just one Prime or Netflix movie can gobble a gig so those 6 gb fake "unlimited" data plans are a joke. Last time I bothered to check, I blew through about 190 GB's of data in one month. No problem.

If the Verizon network works for you then you'll be very happy. Starting out, your monthly bill will be $40. Again, that includes TRUE UNLIMITED DATA. However, each person you refer deducts $5 from your bill down to as little as $25 per month. After that you get a $20 credit for every referral. I have referred only two friends so far simply because I wanted to be sure the service was good. It is good, so now my monthly bill is only $30. (You will be anonymous to the person you join.)

If anyone wants to join my Visible Party Plan then here is my link: https://visible.com/p/111-867-5309

P.S. Most say their transfer only took a few hours, but for me it took 4 days to finalize. I was still able to use my phone then though.

Been using it for 2 years now and only a couple times when unable to make a call.
Not a big data user so nothing to say + or - on its virtues.
I'd recommend it simply based on monthly cost, without having to worry about using "minutes" or any other restrictions...

You don't need to recruit people to get the $25 Visible plan, simply join a Reddit group with thousands of members and you get it.

Yea I have had visible since 2019 and been happy with it I use the Hotspot to connect to my smart dvd player and stream with very minimal problems I join a reddit group back then have been paying $25 a month no problems

We've had super slow service here in Prescott on Visible. I'm just choosing to use my Verizon data at this point. I've heard it's much better elsewhere. Just know if can slow significantly in populated areas.

I'm more into streaming data (lifelong Gnu/Linux user here) so this is starting to make more sense to me than Mint Mobile.

I miss my peeps and am close enough to the Mendo coast to charge up my batteries from time to time.

I'm pretty stupid about cell plans, but [language] yea! I'll join your family plan @magentawave .

"Family" means more than a bunch of old pictures of people nobody remembers any more, somebody else's old wedding presents, and all that other useless junk.

🤣🗝️♥️

Just a heads up, I just read on visible's site that the party pay system is going bye bye.

As of October 18th, those currently on party pay will have their price locked (they didn't say for how long) so it will still be $25/month and they have two new plans. One is $30 and the other is $45. Only differences I see between them is 5G ultra-wideband, something called 'premium network experience' (whatever that is) and international calling on the $45 plan.

I've had Visible for two years now and never did join a party plan. The $40/mo. was much less than what I paid with a Straight Talk hotspot. So now I'll switch to the $30 plan and I'm hoping the service is at least as good as what I have now.

Update: For the past several weeks I've had very slow speeds with Visible. I live in a very uncongested area, so traffic shouldn't be the problem. I wonder if they are trying to get people to pay for the (supposedly) faster $45 plan...Grrrrr.

gone2day, it won't surprise me if our speeds fall now that they have tiered service.

^What's kind of funny is that I've been paying $40/mo. for nearly 2 years but now will switch to the $30 plan.

So if it's not any better than it's been for the past month or so, at least it will be cheaper....LOL.

The Visible+ 5G ultra wideband will only be available in large cities, so paying for that elsewhere is wasted money.
