Urine disposal method

I've been thinking about solar stills for extended boondocking. You can use pond water, river water, even poisonous desert mineral water, and after distilling and probably a good carbon filter you would get drinkable water. I would think this would work even with your own urine, even if most people would feel queasy drinking it.

Boiling urine would be pretty stinky though, and cleaning out the boiling chamber would be nasty.

II buy cheap washer fabric softener at Walmart and put abt two shots in my pee jug before I start to use it. This masks any odor from the jug during the day or two it takes me to fill it up. If I am camping somewhere I just empty the jug on some bush or tree. If I’m at Walmart then I dump it in one of the planting areas in the parking lot, or down the storm sewer grate.

In eight years never had a problem; either with odor or with de-pissing the jug. Then I rise the jug out with clean water a couple of times; add the fabric softener, and I’m all set to cut loose for the next couple of days.

In the desert, you say? Where the ground and air are incredibly dry and any moisture quickly disappears? I haven't found any urine smells to be a problem. Of course, it might depend on what you drink and eat, and how sensitive your nose is.

Dumping urine in Walmart landscaping will lead to more Walmarts banning overnight parking. Thanks. Getting caught dumping in a storm grate will get you all kinds of police action and fines.

Urine should be diluted with water before pouring it on plants.

Please don't do this. It's not only illegal, but is one of the things that prompts cities to ban vandwelling.

Not to mention giving the whole scene an even-worse reputation when highlighted in the media.

So how do you guys dispose of your waste? Some different ideas\solutions are probably what are wanted.

In populated areas, bottle small enough to carry in a messenger sling bag, dump down the toilet where it belongs.

In urban areas, my pee bottle only occasionally gets used during the night, when I'm usually parked in a Walmart or other lot (and when i can always pee before settling in for the night). So if necessary in the morning my pee bottle gets taken inside and dumped in the toilet.

In open areas, I look for a sandy spot, not near a water source, so it gets filtered before it reaches the water table.

I'm not self-contained. Therefore, when boondocking I pee in a jug that contains water. I'll either water the forest or dump it in a toilet when I hit a public restroom. Rinse and repeat.

Same here. I have saved up a couple gatorade bottles and I planned to dump in the toilet at gas stations and the like. I have a 5 gal bucket for #2, but don't want to waste it for just urine.
