Today it was either hot and rainy or hot and humid here in lovely L.A. [Lower AL]  Poked around at the Aliner and then went shopping   :D  Gander Mountain is closing,  Camper World bought them,  Some stores will remain closed, at least this is the info I was given by an employee there.  Today thru Sat everything is  60% to 80% percent off.  I bought some Optronic waterproof tail lights and some reflecters,  Mossy Oak 6in dual blade bone/wood saw, 2 1/2 gal. folding water container, & Delta stormproof butane lighter.  That lighter is ez for me to use.  I've always been very righthande and that's the one with the worst arthritis & a failed carpel tunnel surgery.  I can barely flic my bic on a good day!  The Delta is great  :D

Also found a store called  Ollie"s Outlet.  I like that store!  All kinds of stuff.  3lb can of roasted/salted peanuts =$6, 1/2gal welches pure grape juice about $2.50,  a woven Dhurrie rag rug that will cover middle van floor from front seats to back bench seat and its washable = $5.

Camper World is having a big sale.  I've been looking for a pop up awning and a screen room,  even at a discount CW is too rich for my blood.  The 10x10 pop up's I've found are heavy enough that I can barely lift them.  I can just see Queenie running away when I start wrestling one of them. Things go across/ over her suddenly makes her nervous.  It's usually something I've accidently let go of.  When I realize that I can't hold/move something I yell "Run Queenie Run"  she starts moving on the 1st RUN!  No Moss growin' on her!

I finally found a screen room at a larger Wal Mart for $45,  it passed the "I can lift and carry this" test in the store.

Everything bought today is to take travelling with us in the Safari & Aliner when we FINALLY get to go somewhere.
I hope I live that long.   :p to rain & heat & life in general!

Hang in here TJB. This heat and humidity and not being on the road is getting me down too. And you know how fast time moves at 39.  Cooler weather will be here before we blink twice. Well....       :D

 I imagine this is what I look like every time I have to put off progress on the van or trailer for whatever reason
Once again I need to "call on Mon. or Tues." to see about getting the Safari's towing light plug hooked up.  Also my Minn Kota Elec Port is here so maybe get all that done at once.  The Safari and Aliner both will be there and we'll see if the rear needs to be raised any more.  It's still bumping the hitch on the roads around town even with me being carefull.  Usually pulling in and out of parking lots.  I'm just not happy with the way it [Safari] sits.  If it didn't have so much fiberglass crap stuck around the bottom of it maybe I'd feel more comfortable with the way it looks.   It worries me that it looks like I have only 4 or 5 inches ground clearance in places.  I also intend to have a tranny cooler installed and the system flushed and filled at the same time on the next trip to the shop.

I finaly made it to Camping World,  I think Jethro would say " WHEE DOGGIES!! "  if he got a look at the prices. :)

I'm looking for a fold up rocking chair...for months now.  CW has BOGO on one style of rocker if you are a Good Sam member.  Yeah, I wish I had a recording of the salesgirl and I getting it out of the box.  Of course that wouldn't be as entertaning as one of when she sat down and it started folding up with her in it right as I said "isn't there a safety latc....h"  I grabbed the top of it and a guy grabbed the rest and she was saved...barely. I must have folded/unfolded/sat and rocked in 5 or 6.  It was either a wrestling match to open/close them or they were just uncomfortable.

One was so low to the ground and hard to get out of it reminded me of a scene in a movie I like.  In "Walk Across Egypt" Ellen Burstyn's character sits  in her chair and the seat let's go, there she is until someone comes to her door.  If  I remember correctly she even tips it over sideways and still can't get out. This is a favorite family movie of mine along with Fried Green Tomatos, Forrest Gump, and a Trip to Bountiful...Whoops I forgot MIlk Money.

At CW I did find a thingy that goes on my seat belt and stops it from trying to choke me.  Also I need 2 stabalizing supports for the front of the Aliner.  I found one there yesterday and the other should have come in today.   They have a bottom steel plate with a steel pipe that the top plate will screw up or down into it so the height can be adjusted.  They were $14 which was about 1/2 off with my Sam's card.

My Sis just told me rain on Sat. in the AM 'til about noon.  Jezz...... I need to check Queenie's and my feet....webs could be developing any day now!

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I wish I had got the rocking chair instead of the anti grav lounge. The lounge was comfortable but also so bulky and heavy that I left it in the trash in Utah. The chair that came with the lounge wasn't all that comfy until I added a pair of decorative pillows as cushions. Now it is real nice if I can keep Max out of it.

THOSE GRAVITY LOUNGE'S ARE NICE.  I'V GIVEN 2 SETS TO FRIENDS IN THE PAST 2YRS.  ALL OF THEM FROM CURBSIDE SHOPPING.  THEY WERE JUST TOO HEAVY FOR ME TO DEAL WITH AND NO PLACE TO PUT THEM.

HOWEVER THEY CAN BE VERY ENTERTAINING......ALL I HAD TO DO WAS WALK INTO A FRIENDS YARD WHERE HE WAS SUNBATHING AND YELL.....WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!   HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW HE FELL ASLEEP NEKID OUT THERE!   :D  I'D DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT   :D  I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAS THE FUNNIEST........A 330LB  NEKID  GUY TRYING TO GET OUT OF THAT LOUNGER OR  A 200LB LADY TRYING NOT TO FALL DOWN OR PEE IN HER PANTS WHILE STAGGERING AROUND LAUGHING.   I'M STILL NOT SURE WHICH ONE OF US WAS THE MOST SURPRISED.

MEN........I GOTTA LUV 'EM EVEN WHEN I AIN'T ALLOWED TO SHOOT'EM

I called the shop at 7:15am and once again it's "Next Week" before the work is done to finish off the wiring on the Safari.

This time I just don't care.  There's lower temps and not so much rain in the forecast this week.

Queenie's ready and as soon as I eat some ceral we have 4hrs to work at the storage units before I have to clean up for a DRs appointment.  We spent a little time working there yesterday.

Glad you're making some progress. I've started packing our place and even though we've purged down to almost nothing, it's still a pain in the butt.

Sarturday Q and I went over to the storage units to set up the Aframe.  It's been closed several weeks due to every week I've been unable to get it and the Safari into the shop for the final towing wiring hooked up. I didn't feel like setting it up for just a few days.

Now I'm dealing with rain day after day, being ill and  the worst depression for weeks that I can not shake.  Also another HUD apt inspection on the 18th or 19th on top of that.

I decided to set up the Aliner and start putting stuff into it that will be needed to travel with.  First thing I notced someone has stolen my porch!  It's 2ft square and built out of 1x6.  AND HEAVY I could barely lift it.  I attempted to set up the Aliner.  It needs to be level for the pieces to fit and lock together.  I guess I'm weaker now than I was weeks ago.  After the roof  I could barely raise the the curbside section and when it wouldn't fit right I just folded the whole thing back down.  Then the bottom section of the door wouldn't catch.  I could close and lock it and just pull on the door right open anyways.  I finally got it locked.

I'm taking the day off.  Going to Camping world to pick up another front stabalizer for the trailer.  Today it's $14 tomorrow $24.

If it wasn't hot and rainy I'd take Q with me.  She loves to ride looking/hanging out the window like a big hound dog.  I roll her window up about 2ins and keep her on a leash.  People are always smiling at her.  A trucker she was watching blew his horn at a red light once and she and I both jumped   :)  There are many days the only reason i get up is to take care of her.

I feel you, Jewellann, been feeling decidedly bummed lately. Tired and all other of sorts. Hope we both catch a break soon.

Queen I'm sorry you're down in the dumps as my Granmaw used to say.    :-/   It's not funny but........Now I have company.

I'm feeling more & more like the boy in the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou...I'm gonna runn oft!

Jewellann

Yeah, I think we're both in the "sick and tired of waiting for life to begin" mode. It's exhausting.

I AM SO BORED I COULD JUST SPIT OR SOMETHING, AND IT JUST RAINS EVERYDAY

I think I've shot myself in the foot this time.  My HUD inspection will be sometime on Wed. or Thur.  I have felt so bad recently that I can't say I've truly tried to prepare  for this next home invasion.

My sister and I are going over to the Aliner at 7am and try to set it up.  If succesful I'll be able to put some things in it that I've purchased for it and the Safari, getting them out of the apt. so it won't be "cluttered" at inspection time.  During one inspection I was actully questioned why my salad croutons were on the table and "wouldn't the cabinet be a better place".

I can't believe I've put myself thru this for SEVEN YEARS!

I dislike people I don't know in my home.

All housing employess are issued cell phones and can take pictures inside your home with or without your permission and you don't have to be home or even informed they are coming in if it's a "emergency" situation.   Any landlord rep. only has to say "I thougt I smelled smoke/heard water running/heard some one yell for help" and in they come.

That's not just here in this Public Housing, in AL any landlord can enter a residence without permission under these circumstances. Pictures can be taken even without the tenants knowledge.

It's not just a yrly inspection with HUD.

There is the:

1.  We need to make sure you haven't sold/stolen/given away the semi-rusty nearly vintage stove and frig that came with           your apt.  So we will be around to verify the serial #s on them.

Twice this year they've "misplaced a new frig" and are "checking" serial numbers.  So they just show up at the door. This year I've held them off with "You know for a fact that no new frig was installed here"   I'm surprised I haven't gotten a letter about that.

2.   The yrly. bug/critter inspection is soon.  Every unit must have some form of treatment.  I got 'em by the short and                  curlys there.  I tell them to come in the back door.  Queenie raises all kind of hell and we stand behind her dog gate
in the hall and watch 'em.  If I'm not required to let them in all of my home then I will not.

3.  There is the yearly we need to see if you've got sense enought to remove/clean/replace your heating/cooling systems          filters.  This is a good thing for those that are unable to do it themselves.

4.   This year they have declared that there will be quarterly inspections.

It's amazing to me what some of us have to go thru before we can actully hit the road.

I returned to AL mainly to re-establish contact with family that I hadn't spent a lot of  time with since 1983. Also the SD and KY winters were becoming too painful due to arthritis.  I may not be able to take long trips however I fully intend to spend as much time as I can with Queenie and I out roaming in the Safari and draggin' our little pointy roofed 2 wheeled house behnd us.  Now if I could only get those damn towing lights rigged :D

I've decided that even if I am older than dirt and am tore up from the floor up I refuse to sit here and let the kudzu grow over me.  Now that I've wound myself up I'm gonna cut loose on some serious pack it/stack it/screw 'em who do they think they are anyways/sic 'em Queenie housework

YogiDog, Robindahood, Got Smart I miss you guys. Q sez Ruff Ruff

I'VE BEEN IN THE L.R. SORTING CANNED GOODS AND PACKING CLOTHES.  I FOUND A T SHIRT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR, IT SEZ
