Hello all---
After much thought and the recent purchase of a '92 Plymouth Voyager Van that replacede a Subaru Outback I am in the planning stages of making it a home for me and my small doggie. My family may consider me homeless but I will consider myself FREE!

I am a 56 year old widow. Disable but able bodied. Tired of trying to survive on a fixed income in a stick n brick rental house with to many rooms to heat/cool. I am doing drawings/plans to put a fold up bed inside and behind the drivers seat and making lists, checking them twice. I hope- by winter- to leave NC (and my home State of Virginia) behind and go to a warmer climate, in the woods.

Looking forward to gleaning much info from others on this site. I stalked this site a year and a half back and I know that there are many doing what I want to do. I am stubborn, resilient and ready!

We are so glad you are here! I know dozens of women in your exact situation who made that same decision and now consider it the very best thing they ever did!! We'd love to answer any questions you have as you get the van ready!

Can I recommend you plan to visit Quartzsite, AZ this winter? You'll meet literally hundreds of other vandwellers, including many other women just like yourself! We won't crowd you, but we will be there for you however much you want.

Welcome to the best times of your life!
Bob

Greetings and I think you've made a good choice.  There are many doing what you are setting out to do
so you'll have plenty of experienced people to use as a resource.

I've not full timed and lived for prolonged periods in my Van but have done a bunch of extended week end
trips in it.   I read these forums to learn so I'd know how to go about it if I wanted or needed to.

My website for Van conversion is in the signature line below.  You are welcome to check it out so you can
see how I went about it.

Welcome aboard ARoseis

It has happened to me many times!
