Is that a dead body up there?

No...but it could be.

Not yet, they are still breathing.

Why, do you think there is room for two?

Depends on if you mean human or not.

Now that's just silly. The meat would spoil if I kept it up there.

Has anyone done a conversion of a hearse? Plenty of room to stretch out back there. They sell cheap. Low miles. Might need some lifts.
A high school friend of mine drove a hearse. It was great for drive-in movies.

He dropped me off after school one day and our nosy neighbor (everyone had one then, it was a rule) called my mother and asked her who died at our house.

I think a hearse could make a dandy live-in vehicle, plenty of room, incredibly comfortable to ride in. Low clearance and high gasoline consumption though. And plenty noticeable.

Ok, I just came across this hearse pic and of course thought of this thread...  This is like total HDR status... military axles??

I had one in high school, a '52 Packard.  They are heavy and unless you want to keep the turntable you will have a lot of heavy stuff to get rid of (table, track, and whatever moves it).  Mine had special hydraulic shocks on the right side (to keep the hearse level as they slide the coffin out) that will be expensive to replace.  Don't know if standard shocks will fit, didn't on mine.  They are built heavy duty so are heavy and suck gas; I had a straight 8 and got about 5 MPG.  Very smooth riding; like sitting on your living room couch driving.
