Not necessarily, DollarJoe..... my children were born after 1980.

Ziggy Moon- this is on the list of stuff to be fixed in the coming weeks. IF I figure out why it does it....

I'm easy 24/7, and the more beer in me the easier I get. Problem is, the women out there don't seem to appreciate this fantastic trait all that much. Oh well.. can always snuggle up to Coco. ..Willy.

Hmmm...well I've been told pretty much my whole life that I was born too late to be the hippie that I obviously am. Matter of fact, someone told me that again just last week...and that was before they found out I was soon to be living in my truck.

I think it's cool that you are who you are. Ocean!

Born in 67, first travel and "vandwelling" ( ok, it was sleeping in the car or station wagon, or pickup and cap or whatever) was in the mid eighty-six on the way to or from Dead shows, lived not too far from Bethel Ny ( Woodstock) and went to 20 and 25 the reunions. Got an A on a college psychology final for my essay on " Hippies" Can wear a clean rye dye every day for 3 weeks without doing laundry.... That type of hippie?

LOL... that's funny, Les.

I was born maybe 10 years too late (60's baby also) to be a true official hippie - does having an old soul count?

So, was it you who was the Dead Head or your parents - or maybe both? Also, I enjoy a good tye-dye T, but sorta feel like an aging hippie if I wear one in public - so I guess I'm a closet tye-dye'er.

Thank god for the EDIT function, - I'm one editing fool.

Hey none of the your to young to be a hippy nonesense I ama 90's baby (yes I am a youngling) and I see myself as a hippy, I am all about embracing the love and the freedom the world has to offer

I had not associated van dwelling with being a hippie. LOL...shows that I was a later generation for sure. Also, I'm not sure that they allowed hippies in Texas

LOL! They were often technically allowed in Texas, but often directed to use the back door.

Wow, really guys!

I happen to know a couple of hippies that live in Texas - they both served with me during Desert Shield/Storm.

Huh, Ya just never know, even in Texas!

LOL Vanfan!

I actually live in what most folks would consider a hippie community. We're all way out here in the desert. Everyone is kind of eclectic and eccentric. There is no tellings what kind of clothes you are going to see folks wearing. Lots of folks live in vehicles, rvs or funky little shacks. Lots of artists and musicians. It generally ticks us off when folks try to impose regulations or mess with our freedom to be funky and offbeat.

Edited to add: OMG I think I am a hippie!

Really, TxGypsy! And here I thought you were being sorta sarcastic.... lol

That's sounds really cool though - I like eclectic and eccentric folks (to a point). I wouldn't consider myself a full blown, tree hugging freak (as someone else posted) but live and let live.

Where is this community (general location). My son is out in El Paso (Army) and maybe I can visit if I ever make it out to see him.?

Thanks for sharing that, TxGypsy!

I don't have a decorated (hippie van), ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶ - sorry!

Wow.... that looks all messed up now, don't it! ≧=ʘ‿ʘ=≦

The Big Bend area. I'm in the northern tip of the Chihuahuan desert. Really beautiful, interesting place to live, but danged hot in the summer time. Perfect in the winter. Sure come on down. If you happen to ride a motorcycle this is awesome riding country.

You know I was kidding, right? I must say that I was "warned" when I moved here in the early '70's that Texas might not be the most welcoming place. Obviously, I haven't found it too harsh!

TXGypsy: I am lightly familiar with the area, and think it and the local culture is pretty awesome. Come August, it just might be cooler there than in D/FW.

Vanfan we are already hitting 110 or over now. You do not want to be here in August! That's monsoon season. So we end up with hot and humid instead of hot and so dry that your tongue cleaves to the roof of your mouth in about a minute spent outside. I love it here and I don't want to be here in July and August.

I grew up east of DFW. I do not miss the humidity in that part of the state!

@ VanFan - What can I say, the failures of online communication - no volume, intonation or physical gestures involved. I must of had a bad day, a little xanax maybe!? I'm Sorry!!

@ TxGypsy - I looked at Google Earth for the general area - WOW! And, not that far (at least it doesn't look it) from El Paso, or as my sons says, Hell Paso!

He's a "Conch" (born in Key West) born and raised Florida Boy (like his dad).
