Hello,

My name is Wallyworld. I don't understand much about the lifestyle that is "nomadic." My goal in the next few years is to hit the road, see  the parts of America that I've missed. Mostly south west, north west, and the New England states. As I've got older, I want to look around me now.

My "rig" is a VW 1979 Riviera bus. Starting out it will be fine; strong engine, in good repair, and paid for. Upgrades I will need is a dual battery system, solar system. When it comes to tech stuff, I'm pretty much Amish.

Looking at this website has helped me to prepare the bus for the road. Hope to meet folks on the road sometime, Most of you have You Tube channels. I've enjoyed them all. Thanks, and hello to all.

:) Hello Wallyworld and Welcome

I've been a member for 2yrs and yours is the 1st "79 VW Riviera bus I've seen mentioned.  Can you post a pic of it?
I should be ashamed to ask as I still can't post "pics" or do "links"......except the B-B-Q kind.
Also do you have pets?  Lotsa animal lovers here + some not, which is O.K. too of course.

Will do, seems I'm not the only one who is bad with technology. I have the same problem posting: copy, paste, and resize. Most of the photos I have are repair types. I'll get a few new ones to you soon.

as promised, here are some photos of the bus, other photos came up as too big a file to download. I'll get help with them.

My bus has no sink, water, refrigerator, or shore power. I think at one time it had a kitchen set up. Cooking wise, a Coleman stove/propane, and a cooler works fine.  The window seals are slowly being replaced, from leaking into interior. The interior will be removed, and panels will be replaced. Cabinets /bed will be put back in.The engine was one of the last air cooled models. "GE" fuel injected, hydraulic lifters. I restored the gas tank and fuel lines. It runs well. Thanks for your interest.
