Hi there... I'm looking at returning to the RV life after 10 years off the road and wish I had some resource like this forum when I was wandering in the late 80's and 90's.

Anyway, I'm gearing up to go back on the road after having had a "real life" for entirely to long. I've lived in everything from conversion vans to a couple years in a Geo Metro. Being in my 40's rather than my 20's I'm sure it will be much different, and having 3 dogs will also be a concern. I haven't decieded exactly what I want to live in yet. I am mostly torn between a large cab over camper or trading my truck on a motorhome. I'm permanately disabled (insert sob story here.) so I don't have the income issues I did before, but I am also much more accustomed to creature comforts than I used to be.

Both have advantages and disadvantages and I have lots to learn and look at. I look forward to learning from all of you.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I had no idea this forum was here, I only stumbled over it by accident looking in to options for wireless internet.

I started living in a car in the late 80's with an older Subaru wagon. Great first car for living in with a few mods. Did time in college for a while and then I finally wrecked it in Oregon and settled for a while in the Pacific NW. Lived in an Chevy van for a while before getting a 'real' job and settling down. Gave that up after buying a Geo Metro (not a good car for living in) and hit 49 of 50 states living off of selling jewelry/body piercing and following fairs/circuses and flea markets. 135K miles and 2.5 years later the car was done and what was going to be a 2 week stay in NW Washington to get gas money to head for Fla for the winter turned in to almost 12 years, a "career", house, huge amounts of junk etc.

Now that my health forced me in to retirement, I realizethat I really don't want most of it and look forward to returning to some sort of gypsy lifestyle while I still can.

Hopefully before another gloomy 6 month Washington winter.
