It occurred to me this morning, how very happy Bella will be to have my movement restricted to an area that she can see from a single vantage point, once we start RV Dwelling. Poor girl, every time she gets settled down somewhere, I get up and move, and she (being the loyal, faithful, companion that she is) feels compelled to get up and follow me!

I have moved so many time with my last doggie. After the 5th (or was it 6th?) time. She gave me a look as to say OK as long as you there I am fine. In the beginning I would bring something from the new place to smell...bring her there to check it out. But after awhile she got so used to it. Its you thats stable in her life, thats all she needs. BTW I love the name Bella and will be naming my next doggie that.

Now after writing all that I reread your post LOL What you meant was the dog follows you everywhere. OK!! Yeah OMG Bella will be thrilled all she has to do is roll her eyes!!

Stumpy can be pretty independant when the spirit moves her, so following me around isn't a priority; unless I am headed to the kitchen. She LOVES having the 360 degree view the MoHo provides and what's going on around us.

She - Sorry, I can see how the word "move" would be confusing to someone who has actually "MOVED" a lot! Good idea to take something from the old place, with you!

Cyndi - Maybe that's why she follows me: because I MIGHT be going to the kitchen! lol It's worse, when I'm in my room (computer is here) especially, early mornings or at night. In fact, I hate getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, because she will jump up and stagger after me, then collapse on the floor and go back to sleep the second I stop moving. poor baby. lol During the day (at least non-naptimes) she's pretty independent, and will go chase bees and butterflies in the garden.

Hi, My podna Dina-Dog is like that too...sticks to me like a shadow. I like to think it is because she is a fiercely protective herder dog doing her job, but when the dust settles and I come back to earth, I realize she is just very co-dependent and her neurosis is always active...

So you get with a rescued puppster....I love her and all her warts and doggie breath. She is loyal to the max.

Bri

Lola is pretty clingy. Except when she's playing, then she out runs my friend's Siberian Husky.

It is a different thing when ya get to a new place, so dogs get allot of exploring exercise and tend to nap allot... Though I can move about my camp without him underfoot, as soon as I pass his invisible barrier of his camp, he is always right with me...

Looking forward to the "lot of exercise" and "nap a lot" parts! Doesn't bother me much that she likes me. I just feel bad that when I'm home she never gets her full afternoon nap!

Seems to me dogs take on the job of security, this takes up allot of time and energy on them... Zeke and I have 2 shifts I am on from 7am-7pm and them Zeke takes over... Dont worry about your pup, they now are as free as you, and they will take full advantage of it...
