Flagstaff mud forecast?

I'm making travel plans that might take me through Flagstaff. However, the last time I was there in late summer the boondocking areas were muddy from the monsoons. Soggy ground, standing water in the ruts and low spots, etc. 

For those who are currently there or have been there recently, what are the conditions along A-1 Mountain Road?

Best check with the District Ranger's Office, I seem to remember some rumors about trash and possible closures.
