Ok so I went to walmart today and they have a ton of fabric on sale right now! I bought some of the cutest for some blankets I am going to make for the rv. I love pink and there was lots of it LOL Also they have the halloween and christmas fabrics out now and yep I bought up the cute ones now cause I know they will sell out soon =( Just wanted to let you all know. I am a quilter and am always looking for a great deal on fabrics HuggZ

Fun stuff Mortisha! I have a bunch of material from my Mom who was a quilter - and one of my "bucket list" items is to learn how make a simple patch work quilt out of her fabric. (it is not going in the sale!) Show us pics when you make it!

I will definitely put up some pics when I get them finished and that sounds like so much fun doing a quilt with your mother's fabrics. I have made a few quilts using my kids clothing as they grew out of them. Those are always the best to make. Make sure you remember to post pics of yours when you get around to making it. I would love to see what you did HuggZ

Quilters Rule! ... and then they cut....

I most especially love the one with all the cats!

i love a homemade quilt, my grandma was an avid quilter and must have made hundreds of them... Alas that was a life time ago yet i can still smell the love when i put my face in one of them...

Yeah quilts are so comfy and hold so much meaning of family and home. I think that is why I love to make them so much =)

All of the fabric except the halloween and christmas ones were only $1.50 a yard. OMG I am going back very soon to get more. I will take a pic of the pink fabrics that I got last week. One for the curtains and two for dresses I am making for myself. The pink fabrics that I got were only 50 cents a yard. I love a great bargain LOL HuggZ

Oh I forgot to say all those fabrics I posted are all fleece material and a steal at only 1.50 a yard. LOL

I never quilted before but sure admire the work that goes into it. I would like to try my hand in this. Do you think I could make a duvet?

@She... of course you can if you put your mind to it =)

I have some other pics I will post later I have so many new fabrics LOL I am going to have to work on the halloween ones first. I am making 2 little quilts for my grandsons and then of course I am going to make up some christmas ones for them as well LOL I hope to start the scotty dog one soon I can't wait to do that one cause that one is for me LOL HuggZ

Quilting is exciting... all the kool fabrics and trims and so many ways you can do it.... you can never make a wrong quilt LOL and yes I just went back to walmart and got a few more fabrics LOL you just cant beat $1 a yard ones. I also bought this really pretty winnie the pooh fabric and going to make a quick blanket for my grandson Markus. He is here with his mom for the week and he just loves pooh LOL. Will post pics later!

I don't know if I can do a class on quilting LOL I am not that good of a teacher LOL My patience is limited now that I am older and after 4 kids LOL

HuggZ

One of my best friends just told me she is getting married! Yay! She is almost 70 years old. I must make her a quilt, but I think that since this is her 4th marriage (!) I'll bypass the Wedding Ring. I'm thinking a nice Log cabin - keeping those ol' home fires burning, bright red centers with some crazy quilt embroidery on it.... just considering.....

Oh wow CongratZ to her YAY! I always love weddings (for other people of course, not for me LOL) I think that would be really nice a log cabin quilt. I know she will love it! I started working on my quick winnie the pooh blanket for my grandson today. I hope to finish it up soon. It is not a quilt just a simple little blanket. I found the fabric yesterday and I knew he would love it =) On those halloween quilts I am making, I decided to do quilted pumpkins with fringed edges. I think that will make them fun for the kids LOL. HuggZ and Happy Sewing!!

My Walmart doesn't have a fabric department any more. But there is a Joanns near by and they usually have a lot clearance fabrics. I am going to check them out.

I used to love going to Joanns but I moved too far from the store now but I do order from them online LOL It isn't quite the same though. I love going to see all the fabrics =( Thank goodness my walmart carries tons. I guess cause we have so many amish people around here. So that is a great thing for me. HuggZ
