Anyone on their own for Thanksgiving?

I understand.

I am cuddled up on this day and getting rest.

If I were up and about and my mother and husband still with me, I'd be baking a tofurky while my sweet husband fried a turkey for the rest of the family. And not to forget Mom's infamous dressing...She was a champion!

The only non-loss there would be the tofurky (not a big fan) ;)

Rest and ramen noodles for me, today and all is good.

Tomorrow, I get to view people in cars frantically hitting stores.

I'm going to need more Ramen.

 :D

Hi everyone - Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm spending Thanksgiving alone, thankfully. Nice and quiet here! ;)

I'm also a vegetarian so turkey doesn't work for me. This evening I'm having a big plate of cruciferous vegetables with a veggie burger and boiled potatoes. Now, that's what I call food.

I also have two slices of sweet potato pie in the fridge.

I will not go hungry.

I spent T day avoiding my housemates and working on my van, I move into it next week! Soooooo much to do that I didn't really miss the big meal etc. Just excited to start this next part of my life!

I met two other nomads in my casino parking lot today. That's a big deal for me, because I normally avoid other humans. One of the people turned out to be somebody I know from another RV forum! Whaddyknow. We ended up yakking for a couple of hours. Now I'm exhausted but pleased that I stepped out of my shell long enough to meet a lovely person.

:) Happy, happy Thanksgiving... ;)

On my own for T day, but wanted turkey anyway. I stuffed a turkey thigh with onion, garlic, celery, spinach, hash brown potatoes and cheese, wrapped it in bacon (well, sort of) and baked it in a cast iron dutch oven on my camp stove. Yummy stuff!

God I wish I was.  Have to visit a friend, then promised to accompany my mother to a friend's for Thanksgiving.  I should be grateful, I'm sure.  But I'd much rather just be quietly snuggled up on this rainy day by myself, without having to put a face on for friends, family, and strangers.

OMGosh been there.  You do this stuff for others, forcing yourself to do it.  I so get that.  While the whole time you want quiet and privacy and alone time.  Been there.
