I've been in the city for two weeks. It isn't even a large city, just a mere 30,000 people live here. Anyhow, when camped I always feel very relaxed and enjoy my days. In the city I start wondering WTF I am doing here. People are all in a hurry. Customer service doesn't exist. Folks are rude. And I'm just another unhappy face in the crowd. I'm sitting in COSTCO right now waiting for my passport pictures to be completed. I previously went to Staples for copies of my identification for the passport. I need the passport so I can get my teeth worked on and some prescriptions filled in Mexico. Thanks to the RTR and Bob's videos I am not afraid to go to Mexico alone, in fact I am looking forward to it as I have some major dental work I need done ASAP. I also have trouble affording some of my medications, so Algadones is going to be a big help to me.

But people, so many people in a hurry. So many bodies crammed into small spaces. Yuck. I just don't belong here anymore. I was raised in LA, so this should feel like a small town. But it doesn't. It feels like a rat race I quit running in. I'm so done with it all.

Boondocking has ruined me, or it has restored my sanity. My kids took me to see an apartment complex I had expressed an interest in. It is a low income senior/disabled housing. It is a nice place, but I hope I last a decade or more at this life before I have to consider it. I just don't want to spend my time around too much humanity.

Anyhow, anyone else planning on getting dental work or prescriptions in Mexico this winter? I know the people will drive me nuts there too. But I need to go, I can't afford any dental work in this country and my asthma inhalers are too expensive as well!

blmkid has a thread started @ Gatherings: Formal & Informal regarding a trip into Algodones, perhaps this may be of help.
