Several time I have mentioned 4GAS in a post. It stands for 4Gantennashop. They have a promo right now for 5 gigs and then unlimited 2G including free streaming with Binge on for $17 a month plus taxes or $19.71.

I called and ordered the service and a hotspot because it is on T-mobile and for the binge on. The 5 gigs of data isn't as important in my plan as having another affordable network option while on the road.

It is a no contract plan. You do have to own a business but all he wanted was our companies name. You do have to pay for the first 3 months in advance but after that it is monthly. You can BYOD your own hotspot but I paid $100 for a LTE Rocket and $7.50 in shipping.

So now I'll have 10 gigs throttled to 8 Mbps and then unlimited 2G on Cricket (AT&T), 2 gigs unthrottled on FP and R+ (Sprint) a 5 gigs unthrottled and then unlimited 2G plus Binge on with 4GAS (TMO) A few Gigs on Verizon and we will be all set. :)

The additional cost besides phones and hotspots is a additional $10 a month to turn on the cricket hotspot, $19.71 a month for the 4GAS and nothing for the Freedompop and RingPlus accounts. I can add GIGs at $8 a gig to the RingPlus account if the 17 gigs and unlimited 2G are not enough.

I should have asked if the Binge on still functions like normal if I hit the 5G limit on the 4GAS account.

Just curious what the T-mobile reception is like in the "AZ corridor" (from Quartszite/Ehrenberg up to Flagstaff/Prescott Valley area) . Would you be able to run Netflix thru-out that area ?
Thanks......KinA

So much for T-Mobiles band 12. We ran up to the casinos in Black Hawk today and I took the devices to see what would connect where. It's a rough run as Clear creek canyon is deep and steep with little in the way of residence or business.

I set the TMO hotspot to LTE on the way up and got nothing until we hit the casinos. On the way down I ran it on 3G/4G/LTE and had a connection in one spot. Not at all what I had hoped for.

as for the rest. Cricket lost signal in a tunnel and never regained service even though it said connected to HSPA+. (overloaded tower) Sprint 3G was usable at times, LTE in town but I expected that. The Verizon 3G hotspot never lost signal all the way up.

Hopefully we will get either a day trip to the stomping grounds or get to go camping here soon. We are out in the open there and I hope for better out of the TMO then.

Thanks for these connectivity reports with alternative carriers. There us no way anyone should invest in these plans without being certain you will get connectivity. Real works versus hype or even versus maps like on SENSORLY show how hard it is to predict results. Still if you are mobile you can try to make a choice to stay in a location with good predicted conductivity. And then burn/binge your video stream or Internet reading binge.

You are welcome. I am glad someone gets something out of it.

It is pretty sick how the carriers represent the coverage vs what you get. Sometimes you have a signal so weak you can't do anything, other times they are outright lies. The reality is you get what you get when you turn on your phone no matter what the maps say. I think most pick by price or shiny phone and take what they get.

Should you have good TMO native coverage, 4gas has a unlimited TnT and 20 gigs with binge on and stream on for $50 a month. Nice deal IF you have the coverage.
