I don't have to hold a steady 9-5 any longer, but I don't want to maybe put one of, of some of my hobbies to good use and make that extra that would make me feel much more secure on the FT'ing.

Hobbies??? We love to hear about hobbies! Ravella makes the best bread in the world outside in her Dutch oven and also makes BEER amongst other hobbies

I quilt and run around in the desert rock collecting.

What are your hobbies?

Ticked off another item on the build list, I finished adding more insulation to my Norcold/Engel fridge. It is a fuel efficient 12/120v but no point to having it run more than necessary. I put up shade cloth on that side of the trailer as it ends up facing West because of my solar panel's best orientation.

I could not find any 90% shade cloth in Quartzsite, they only sell 70%. I got a birthday gift card for Amazon last month, keeping cool in the shade on hot days seems like a nice thing to use it for to make this summer more pleasant.

Break time is over, more hand sewing chores for adding some Velcro tabs on my screen room. Once that is done I can set it up for my outdoor workshop for sewing and cabinet door making space. The breezes here in Williams at present can be rather chilly; the screen room will keep me a bit warmer and more comfortable as it has wind screen panels I can put up.

I moved to southern Utah at 7800ft. Beautiful day yesterday when I got here. Woke to 26F this morning and no breeze in the trees. Drove over a pass at 9900 ft and there was still snow patches up there. Up and down some 8% grades. Missed my shower yesterday as I was almost out of water so had to dump and fill before the road trip here. I will take my shower when it warms up to around 65F. Do nothing day otherwise. Glad I have the furnace, a balmy 65F in here last night. Turned it up to 70 this morning. Went through an extra 40 Oz of water yesterday. Altitude sure makes me thirsty.

Quartzsite has some very low cost RV parks just under $200 per month. But electricity is never incliuded and sometimes there is a sewer and water fee as well. Still they are a good bargain. If you have solar for the majority of electric use it is doable on a modest income.

I spent the winter at La Posa South which is very close to town. There are also other LTVA sections even closer to town that are walking distance. The whole of the season from mid October through mid April cost $180. That includes garbage, water andd sewer dump. You can stay there in an SUV but must camp somewhat close to one of the vault toilet buildings. It is a great bargain pricewise and there is lots of community friendship available if you like that. But it is easiest to do if you setup for solar power. You can get cell signals there, stronger the closer you camp to town.
This sounds incredibly good!  I asked my brother where he stayed while in and around Yuma.  Some place called Riverfront RV, West Wetlands Park.  He said it was inexpensive, but I honestly don't know what my brother has to spend.  Thanks so much for this info, I'm writing everything down in a little journal ;)

awesome Brian! congrats on getting out of Houston ;)

^^^ Thanks! I did spend from the middle of december to almost april in Q. Went back to get my shots and the van painted. Hopefully don't go back until around thanksgiving.

Brian, "Missed my shower yesterday as I was almost out of water"

OH NO! A NOMAD MISSED A SHOWER! I have never heard of such a horrible thing. o_0

I miss my smirk emoji in this forum.
Also, why you want to be where its so cold at night? Brrr.

Cammalu, no inside pics today. I'm in travel mode so it looks less cute than it does in camping mode. Also, you forgot the GINGER before the BEER! :p

We look pretty good going down the road, but "the morning after"?  Definitely not Instagram ready :).

I made a 60 mi round trip this morning just to take a picture of a standing dead tree that I knew about. I wonder if that would get me in the you ain't right club?

Also if anybody ever goes to Port Townsend Washington you can overnight in the park and ride behind the Safeway. At least that's what I was told by the pizza guys and I see two other Vans and two cars with all their back windows blacked out. I guess I'll find out!

Had a couple gals show up to camp at my place tonight. They arrived past my bedtime. I’ll see them tomorrow

Incorrect info from the Pizza guy. You can get "the knock" for parking in the park and ride lot overnight. However you can park along the street next to the park and ride over near the Hardware Store and McDonalds. I have both lived in and camped around Port Townsend. The Indian Casinos on the NW Coast side of the Olympic Peninsula have free overnight camping. The one just before you get to Sequim even has free water and electric hookups at some of the camping spots. That lot is up on the hill behind the casino, it is very quiet and surrounded on 3 sides by forest.

One star reviews say no sewer hookups.

Reading about Brian's post about the cold night temps had me jumping up to lower my popup and put up my window blankets. It was starting to get cool outside now that the sun has gone down. I put some heat on yesterday evening and turned it off before I went to sleep. Slept nice. warm and cozy unlike the 2 previous nights when I did not preheat the trailer.

Went into town today for errands and did a walk along the main street with all the tourist shops. Lots of gimcrack but also some nice jewelry and art. I enjoyed the custom leather shop too. I did buy a set of walking/hiking poles as they had a nice pair with shock absorbing and cork hand grips. I want to see if they will help my back hurt less when going up and down hills. Guess I had better watch a video or two on how to use them properly and then go find a small hill to climb to test it out. The Dogtown Reservoir is just a mile down the road so I think I will take a break tomorrow and drive there with a picnic lunch and do a short hike around the reservoir area.

But mostly tomorrow will be a get projects done day. I set my screen room up this afternoon. Not camping with friends means I will stay more focused on build projects this next few weeks. No one is camped close enough to be bothered by my little generator running.

I an wishing  I get more Etsy sales this week. I am very tempted to take the excursion train up to the Grand Canyon just for the fun of it. It is $81.00 round trip, economy class. Plus there is free shuttle bus to the vista sight seeing areas. Oh well I can always drive there. But train rides are fun!

Okay I will move. Silly Waterfront Pizza guys. I don't really want to go out of town to the casino cuz I'm going to try to get on the ferry as early as I can. Thank you!

Edit: there are already two vans right where you said.

Another van just pulled in in front of me between me and the first two vans. lol

It is a popular place to overnight next to the Park and Ride.. No ban I kow of prohibiting sleeping in your vehicle in that city but do carefully watch for signs saying no parking at certain hours.

There were six of us there when I got up this morning. I went back over to the far side of the park and ride to straighten out the mess in back and wake up a little bit before I got on the ferry. Two of the cars that were still there from the night before had very fogged up windows. I cracked my front windows by about 2 in and I had such a nice breeze blowing through the van all night I didn't even need to use my fans.

I was unaware that you needed reservations for the Port Townsend ferry now. I was only able to get on because it was so early.

I love Port Townsend so much I would love to live there.

I'm on my way to Idaho to change my ageing (11 year old) AGM batteries to Lithium. They are sitting at a friends house waiting on me.

It may be cold at night but high's around 70 are GREAT. I sleep a lot better in the cold than the heat and no A/C rwquired.
Almost hot if in the sun and no breeze in the morning.

I will be visiting Bryce Canyon NP too.
