I found a better spot to anchor the bungee for my privacy curtain behind the seat and I've decided to use 2 old silk saris for it. I need to get my sewing machine out and run some seams. First I'll hang them up folded in quarters to make sure they block out enough with a lantern on in back, I think they will.

Classy curtains!

I've been wanting a hippie van since 1973 when a co-worker had one.  She had a newish, yellow VW van and put a tapestry up as a headliner and had bells hanging here and there and Pink Floyd on the tape player. :)

I do love a good night of Pink Floyd music.

My Mom hated them, she thought, until one night at her house she was listening to some weird local radio station that kinda played everything from Chopin to Beach Boys to Pink Floyd and Spice Girls. She was saying how she really liked this one song and as I listened It was Pink Floyd!!! She used to yell at me for playing that "horrible stuff" back in the 70's and here she was telling me 2 years ago how much she liked it. Even though it was so different/new. We both got a good laugh at that.

Maybe, just 'cause, I will need to find some Pink Floyd to play and drive my hubby nuts with. He only like Pop music from the late 50's to the early 70's.

Now I'm curious which Pink Floyd song it was she decided she liked? :)

When my kid's dad and I were married I listened to everything but rap and country and he had a very narrow range of music he liked. Mostly stuff he listened to in high school. I was very happy when we met and I discovered he loved Jethro Tull and Genesis as much as I did.

I don't remember which song it was mainly because we both were to busy laughing to listen any more....
That and it had been a long day at the beach and a bit of liquid refreshment going down.

I think David Gilmore is from another planet. His music has evolved over the past decades and it is awesome!

Tired but almost done packing up for leaving Quartzsite. Set my alarm for very early so I can finish securing everything for travel. Maybe by the time fall comes around I will have my build pretty much finished and a lot more stuff in the way of tools and buiild supplies will be gone out of my nomadic life.

Had my 2nd Moderna shot in the afternoon on the 22nd. No side effects so far but I was too busy to pay attention to anything other than the usual trying to keep my energy going. No problem with worrying about moving my arm muscles to prevent getting sore as I gave it many hours of exercise right after getting the shot. Tomorrow is Yuma area. The weather for my stay does not look to be unbearable without air condditioning which I am very pleased about.

I'm fiddling with my bed AGAIN today after realizing that I've lost my taste for sleeping bags since my last time sleeping in one about 10 years ago. I will use it for more padding and throw a sheet over it. Well, there's already a sheet over everything I've piled on top of that tri-fold but it's a microfiber sheet and I like sleeping in cotton sheets.

There's going to be another 4" of various and random stuff on top of that 4" tri-fold by the time I get done, I just know it.

I'm getting ridiculous in my old age. lol

Yeah made it to the dentist in Mexico on time. Traffic from Quartzsite to the border crossing near Yuma was very light the whole way. Only saw one class A that was heading north. I downsized enough that the trailer was towing just right, it felt very well balanced. B & C is my very kind road buddy on this excursion taught me a few new tricks on hitching up. I forgot to turn on my brake controller but it was not necessary as there are no steep decents on the route. They did a lot of new paving on 95 this winter so the majority of the highway made for smooth, easy driving. Fortunately the weather is not screaming hot and there is a pleasant breeze. Looking forward to getting to a campsite and taking a long nap.

Where are you headed next Maki? I’m glad you have a traveling partner.

I had a nomad come thru and stay a couple of days and the same day that she left I got a call that another was three hours away and would be here after dark.

So Cindy (from this forum also - Roamingraven) is here and will be until Wednesday. It’s great to have her here. Things have been hectic since I’ve been in KY and John has undergone two surgeries. He has at least two more to go and one for me.

Cindy was supposed to be going to a convention of some sort in Georgia and was almost there when she found out it had been canceled and nobody let her know. She turned north and headed here but had planned to get a room at the convention so was in her little car.

I sorta have a guest room now so it worked out well. It’s a tiny camper and clean and nice but needs rewiring and a few other things inside. It’s used for family if any of them want to go camp with us. Anyway it’s working out well for Cindy.

It’s cute but like anything a bit old it needs work. It’s a 66 model.

I have another forum member coming thru in a few days. I’m enjoying the visits but have tons of appointments and other things so I have to work around it.

I was going to head for the OP yesterday but bumped it up to next weekend after seeing how the weather forecast was panning out. Just looked at the webcams and oh man, is it ever WET over there. Which is actually my favorite kind of weather, wet and stormy. But not for hiking and beachcombing. Next weekend and the week after look a little drier.

When my kiddos were little and we were living east of Seattle we'd go stormchasing on the coast sometimes when their dad was shipped out. Get hotel rooms for a few days. We loved it, my kids still love wet weather and storms.

Be sure to look at the local forecast for Sequim, Wa. It is in the rain shadow and that area is often dry while the rest of the Olympic Penisula is socked in and rainy. It has a micro climate due to the terrain. A lot of people have retirement homes there because of it being uniquely sunnier as well as warmer than other areas on the Olympic Penisula.

I've been looking at Ocean Shores because that's where I'm headed for first and probably the one that I'm hoping for not too much rain for.  Gonna walk out to the end of Damon Point and see if I can find a carnelian or two.  All the times I've been to Ocean Shores I've never been out on Damon Point.

This ervening we stopped in at BLM. Craggy Wash just to the north of Lake Havasu City. I am thinking of heading towards Pahrump, NV but Sunday's weather shows a red flag for dangerous wind gust in that area. So as I have a few shopping errands I want too run that can be done in Lake Havasu City we will likely make it a 2 night stay. I have definetly had my fill of windy wrather. But this evening it was very nice sitting out outside in our chair. Had a very tasty dinner stop at the Blue Water Casino in Parker AZ on the way North. We were tempted to stay there overnight but there really is no level spot to park in and B&C has a fridge that needs to be kept level.

Sequim does not have any carnelian beaches but there are some very good sea glass beaches near Sequim.
