One fan or two, for hot weather? I have two. My granddaughter noticed I have two pink Opolar USB fans. I bought them a few years ago for my vandwelling. She thought I had too many and tried to convince me to give her one.

I, of course, refused. I know from those hot days in a van, the two fan system is much more effective. A shade tree, two fans, and open doors make life more bearable.

Maki - I hope you get plenty of air conditioning opportunities until you can relocate.

Wanderingsoul - those eggcrate type foam pads are kind of pricey these days, aren't they? Well, sweet dreams. I hope you'll be very comfortable in your van bed.

At least you will be able to stay warm if you ever get caught during a cold snap by just crawling in the sleeping bag!

Pretty soon I will have to get over being spoiled by staying at a BLM LTVA where I have things like a dumpster for trash, place to empty my waste water and a place to get fresh water. Real life on the road coming up. I will truly miss those conveniences.

Maki. There is a dog park near the library. Next to the dog park is a shaded pavilion. I believe there is an elec outlet there that you can use if you want to sit outside in the shade.

I’ve seen the pavilion but I haven’t gone over to look to see where the elec is but I’m pretty sure it’s there.

I could go over to the big pavillion at La Posa South. I have a portable panel as well as a generator.

Breezy here today so I am fine with my shade cloth porches off the two long sides of my trailer.

I need to get some Etsy orders packaged then I will get back onto making the repairs to screen room. I want it for a night time "bug free" place to read and eat or watch movies, etc. Nasty winged biters now come out to visit the lighted screen on my devices.

Of course I can get a small window AC and run it on my generator during tbe peak heat hours but so far I am doing OK health wise without it. Which is an excellent thing to find out for life on the road. I would prefer not to haul an AC along as it is bulky and heavy.

Yes, you can get used to the heat. It is wonderful how our bodies adjust to the extremes of weather if we allow it. I hope you get that nice screen room fixed for a comfortable place without biting insects. Do you need no-see-em nets for that?

Today is another at-home-all-day reading day whereas tomorrow will be an errand day as I'm feeling better now. I have an appointment with someone who wants to help people with their post-fire issues, and packages to pick up at the post office.

Wanted to see if I was going to be able to move after sleeping on that bed so I went and took a nap in the van. I don't know if I actually slept but two hours went by so I must have. Woke up to a bit of a windstorm and it was so cozy and peaceful in the minivan I just wanted to stay in there and read but I have things to do. I'd sleep out there tonight but the temp is supposed to drop and maybe give us some snow tonight (in Eastern WA in April!) so I don't think I'll do that. I buried my cold weather sleeping bag. lol

One thing. I'm sure not as limber as I used to be. And horribly deconditioned after getting laid off from my very physical job last year. I need to get over the mountains to some good hiking and rockhounding spots. 2 weeks!

A nap sounds good right about now. I had a busy morning with a meeting at the community center about my fire survivor needs... then post office, shopping, and a visit to the homesite where I met the man who had just taken soil samples from my property for testing. Watered the roses. Energy quickly failing at this point. Like I said, a nap sounds good.

I've been napping my whole adult life (if I have the time). My sleep is split; 5-6 hours at night, 2-3 hours in the mid-afternoon.

The wind was rocking the van and I just wanted to stay in it and read so bad, it was so comforting. lol

My screen room is made with very fine screen to prevent no-see-um intrusions. Unfortunately that means on really hot days it is too warm. paradise is so elusive of a concept.

You got that right... paradise is an elusive concept. There's always something. Well, as you can see I'm back from my late napland journey. Time for dinner and some kind of TV show then books.

Good morning. I am so close to getting outa here again. Waiting on a generator part that should be here tomorrow (finally, must have been a slow boat from amazon).

The mosquitoes are just coming out here. Time to leave!

Now that I got the shots, I guess I am in the limbo state of still having to wear masks most of the time :( Dang, I so hate those things.

Guess I need to get the fridge fired up today so it can get cooled off by tomorrow.

First stop, my brothers place, then my sisters. Then off to get a campsite on the waters edge. The desert is nice but I do miss the water. West, then north. Just trying to figure out if I take the more northerly route across or stay south. I've never left this late in the year before.

Today was a very good news day. My son's bone marrow test showed no cancer cells. He is officially in remission. But of course tne treatment is not yet done, he still has 4 more rounds of consolidation chemo to go through. Which of course leaves him very vulnerable to other illnesses. But he is overall pretty healthy and still in his 40s so the prognosis is very good for a full recovery.

I am just trying to focus on getting some projects worked on without getting too overheated. Life in slow motion.

Mattress frame. Man, I want that Zinus 30x75 frame so much. I really would like to get my bed off the floor because it would be easier on this old body. But I can't bring myself to pay that much for a frame when I don't know if this roadtrip coming up is going to be the only one or if I'm going to end up getting rid of as much as I can, putting the rest in storage and hitting the road.

If I do that I'm definitely going to need a newer vehicle which will be considerably more than a bed frame. lol

I have been looking at cots until my eyes crossed.  The only ones I've found that are close to 31x75 are the ones that have all the wild struts underneath so you can't store anything under there.

Speaking of 31x75, I wonder why Milliard made that trifold 31" instead of 30".  And it's EXACTLY 31" wide too, I measured.  But mine is 5" high instead of the 4" advertised so I came out ahead there.

Thanks for the link, crofter!
