The 20' view is better than the 4' view. I have small overspray cleanup to do too. It will wait though.

250 pounds??!!... Wow I never would have imagined. That's like 5x everything I used for my walls

Nice looking RV Brian. Now you can blend in with all of us with white vans.

Happy Birthday Maki... a special day indeed. (Not April Fools)

And there will be a cover crop - CLOVER it is... thanks for the suggestion Crofter and Maki. I ordered 5 pounds of red clover seeds - I hope that's enough. Then my friend mentioned it will probably attract deer. But what doesn't? I also got some creeping thyme seeds to experiment with them as a ground cover, and a variety of other herb seeds. I'm counting on my daughter to plant vegetables this year in the greenhouse I bought.

Just foolin, April 1st not my birthday.

Dodged a bullet this morning, two small fraudulent charges came in on my debit card out of New York city, one for a taxi service.. They had not yet been paid out by my bank. Of course that means that particula card number is no longer valid and had to get replaced. Minor inconvenience, not difficult to resolve. But it did generate a slight anxiety attack that will nibble at me now and again for a few weeks before it fades away.

Hot weather is here to stay in Quartzsite. I packed away my cold weather bedding and clothing this morning. I wont be doing much cooking, or at least nothing that takes more than a few minutes time. Its sandwhich, fesh fruit and salad season.

I need to pick up more of the EVA foam puzzle floor mats to create an insulated cover for my 12v, top opening fridge. That type of foam is excellent insulation, not noisy, soft, easy to cut and is not messy to cut, closed cell so its waterproof, can glue layers together, etc. I much prefer it for this task versus using ridgid foam board. But we are all entitled to stick with our own preferences for such things. Certainly both ridgid and EVA foam sheets work as a good insulation. materials. I seem to have an endless list of projects to finish for my nomadic life. New ones come along everyday sometimes as repairs and modifications.

I also just had a fraudulent charge made the last week. 86bux for pizza hut online purchase delivered to an address in Tacoma... Ofc... The cesspool of Wa.

I just don't know how they had the code from the back of the card.
I really hate e-commerce. Would much rather  have a paper payroll...paper money in my hand and actually scrutinizing products that I buy instead of playing amazon roulette.
2 weeks in and I'm still a little touchy about it..:/

I'm wondering just how many things I'm going to have to pile on top of my Milliard tri-fold foam mattress from Amazon before it's comfortable? I just put TWO of those inexpensive 5-zone foam toppers on it and it feels exactly the same. Since it's a cot size (31" wide) it's hard to find things that aren't too big. I just ordered a cot size pillowtop topper that I had been looking at on Amazon (but was out of stock until the day before I plan on heading out), found the same one at Walmart and ordered it.

You do whatever you need to to get a good night's sleep. Being on the road isn't any fun if you can't get a good night's sleep! I'm lucky that a 4" micro foam dual density topper from Walmart with a cheap nylon sleeping bag encasing the foam it just right on almost any surface.

As far as I'm concerned, my bed is the most important thing in the back of my minivan.

Around 2010 I switched from a queen size bed to a full.  I had already picked out a platform bed so all I needed was a mattress, not a mattress and box spring.  In our large town, the ONLY place that sold mattresses without the box spring as a set was Costco.  So I got it and it is sooooooo hard.  I immediately ordered  a topper from Walmart that was like 2" foam and 1" memory foam.  Better.  Then I got something called a Cuddlebed topper from Costco (which they don't carry anymore) and that made it perfect.  And now I'm totally spoiled for beds.

You know, you just gave me an idea. I have a sleeping bag for colder weather I won't be using. I got a twin size microfiber fitted sheet to cover everything on the mattress, it's a little too wide but I got these elastic straps with clamps to put underneath and hold the sheet in place. I'll add that sleeping bag as a mattress topper! It's very cushy, I bet it will help!

Thanks, bullfrog!

I bet my bed is going to end up a foot tall by the time I'm done. Good thing it's on the floor and not on a frame. lol

wanderingsoul (a/k/a Princess and the pea, LOL)

I only needed a cheap egg crate topper on my trifold to make it comfy (Walmart...$15 for twin size...which is too wide for my cot, so I just let it hang down both sides.

If I ever get my rear in gear I’m putting my pillow top twin mattress in the back of my suv...
Good sleep is first priority for me!! Sleep like a baby on it...

Social security only pays 255 smackers when you kick the can...Hidden "iden will pay 11 large because it's only fair for the under served population...

Morbid conversation in here! My father paid for everything before he and his wife left us. All we had to do was sit back and grieve, and write the obituary.

I think I'll go read a book. Whatever else I was going to say, I've forgotten.

Maki !!! From now on April 1 IS your birthday. No backing out of it.

I haven't got beds figured out so I have nothing to add to that conversation. I'm one of those people who isn't going to stay awake no matter how uncomfortable the mattress is.

Oh man, we just finished up a horrible, litigious estate probate between my kids and their stepmother. I helped out a lot because I'm here, and capable.

I'm going to work it so my kids NEVER have to experience anything like that ever again.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter Sunday? The Easter bunny disguised as one of the La Posa volunteers brought all the people hanging out at Sparky Camp a real treat.... he brought us ice cream and root beer. What a fine a Easter treat for a 97 degree day!

Nice way to celebrate Easter, Maki - I wish I'd been there, but of course ice cream and root beer aren't on my diet. (I could make exceptions for special occasions.)

I've been sick last night and today. I have mild symptoms except for the exhaustion! I've slept most of the day. And all last night. And I still feel weak. Slightly elevated fever, no coughing.

My daughter asked if I needed anything at the store... and I told her, water, orange juice, cough drops (though I'm not actually coughing.) So she went and got me a big pkg. of individual water bottles, and five big jugs of Crystal Geyser, and two half-gallons of orange juice... and the cough drops of course. Much more generous than I anticipated! I'm feeling blessed.

Not reading or writing much today. That's part of how I'm sure I'm sick. Normally I'm all over the books and pens.

Tracelaround..hope you feel better soon. There seems to be some type of virus going around through the Southwest with those symptoms a few peeople I know have been ill with it in the last few weeks. So far I have not been ill with it.

The record breaking heat here has really thinned out the number of campers. I would also have departed if I was not waiting to get my second dose of vaccine which is not until the 22nd.

Surprisingly the heat does not seem to be making me feel really bad. Off course as usual I work on projects in short intervals of time. But it is early days yet and things such as heat stroke can be cumulative over several days. I am mostly staying out of the sun and trying to stay in some type of breeze be it from the wind or a fan. Monday thru Friday I can retreat to the Quartzsite public library if needed. The current schedule is 8 am to 5 pm but of course subject to change. I already checked with them and if needed I can hang out there in the afternoon reading or using my laptop. No doubt there are a few other open to the public faciliities with AC such as the senior center, rec center etc. I have however so far only verified the library as a beat the heat retreat.

I put that cushy cold weather sleeping bag on top of the two eggcrate type foam pads and a quilted mattress topper on top of that and i think it's going to do the trick.  And I'll be able to refuse the $60 Walmart pillow top cot topper when it comes next week.  Thanks again for the idea!
