It finally happened. The old Dodge van I was living in leaked water during a rain through through the conversion van windows and onto my pillow while I slept ONE LAST TIME.

I snapped.

The next morning, I told the GF I was buying an RV, and I didn't care what she thought... and she was going to drive me to buy it! She looked at me like I needed to be thrown into the nut-house, and said" Uh... OK"

I looked around, and drove 4 hours to view it, saw that all the appliances worked, and immediately bought this:

It has a two burner stove, a brand new fridge, hot water heater, and the bathroom/shower works. BEST DARNED MONEY I'VE EVER SPENT.

Its rained here pretty hard already no leaks.. I'M SO HAPPY.

She needs work here and there. Nothing big.. Like a new fridge vent door. (I already ordered it) a new rear bumper. (Got it) and I just bought new tires for it.

keep checking back here as I make her right as new again over the next few months.

Oh BTW.. She's totally comfortable to sleep in. I wish I would have just bought a van like this from the get go when I started van dwelling!

Yeah I originally wanted to make this a 4x4.. Then I saw where the grey water tank is and there is no way I can install a transfercase without having to delete the grey water tank.. ::( G/F is all about the sh*tter... Wont let me get rid of it.. Guess I understand haha..

Ill get interior pics in a bit when I dont have a wet dog.. (I JUST gave her a bath) going crazy all over the place.. :)

I was thinking "Dolly" cause she really top heavy and old.

But I just call her "Big-Blue"

Very nice, and I'm with the girlfriend, a potty is awesome!

Yep thats Zia... Does everything at 100mph. Youll never find a more loyal, protective (almost annoyingly) cuddly friend then a Border collie!

We had two of them, they were our little family, miss them soooo much!

For a second there, thought you had 2 of them, then saw it was a mirror and really got depressed...1 is good, but 2 more fun to have...

Man I can hardly keep up with one border collie. Wouldn't know what to do with two!

I know a girl that camps with 5 , in a VW Westfalia !

Congratulations on a nice find.

So far: Over the last few months since I bought it, I've replaced all five tires, new fleet service front shocks, and coil over rear shocks, the entire exhaust system, NOS rear bumper, new frig, and water heater access doors, water inlet connector, grey water tank spill gates, and the spare tire carrier, upgraded house battery, and the I even replaced the old Kenwood stereo with a newer Jensen unit.

All that needs to be done now is alittle dent pulling/filler work and paint blend in. The RV will look nearly perfect.

Have you changed the interior lights over to led lights ?, it will save you some power and help your battery last longer.
You could also add a solar panel to keep the battery charged.

Yes. All the lights inside are now LED. I already have solar, but rarely use it because the vans alternator charges the battery through a solenoid.

I really like this van. I'd love to find a similar one. I've found out this week that standing is an important issue for me. I'm hoping to find one similar but I don't mind much not working inside(like propane appliances because I'd take them out) except the bathroom. Just like many of the gals I read about and just like you posted in this thread I gotta have a bathroom!

I just bought my first van! It's a 91 Ford hightop with bathroom and sink but no other appliances. Only 88,000 miles and the mechanic checked it out and gave it the thumbs up. It's lifted so as long as I can get used to driving a tank I'll be ok.
