Bob had a blog post about a camp just off the side of I-15 at the South end of Idaho just before it crosses into Utah.

Brian, In warmer weather and without snow I'd sure consider that but given current conditions I think it would be wise to not try getting in some place we might not get out of if the weather got worse. David

Mt. Dave and Marian - I just drove down 90 out of Missoula, to 15, and went to Las Vegas to 95, then to Blythe. It was COLD!!!  I stayed in Walmart parking lots and a Flying J. Took me 3 days. It will be nice to meet another Montanan! I'm from Corvallis Mt.
Thanks Marie and Wagoneer, guess we will give that a go. Looking forward to meeting everyone. David

That was a great camp but a Travel Trailer wouldn't get into it.  If I were you I'd just stay at Walmarts and truck stops along the way.

I'd think that driving that much would recharge your batteries enough to get you through the night?

I certainly wouldn't go to Bryce NP in January!

However, I'd give serious thought to a side-trip over to Maob and then down to Monument Valley. Going through Flagstaff does raise the risk of snow and cold though. The rive from Flagstaff to Phoenix is surprisingly pretty, one of the prettiest freeway drives.

If you just want to take time, probably best just to go down I-15 to the 95s.

95 on the Arizona is a much prettier drive than California but it will take longer to get through Lake Havasu and the many curves.
