I saw a post a year or two ago on another forum that had some ideas. Assuming you have a single toned colored van, that looks like it could be a company vehicle, you can add some stuff to make it look like a company vehicle.<br>It would work on a White Ford Econoline or something similar.<br><br>-Add a number to one of the corners on the rear doors and/or the back corner of the side to make it look like its part of a fleet<br>-Adhesive caution tape to your bumpers<br>-Fake logo, with fake brand.<br>-Make a fake company website and add the web URL to the van decals.<br>-Find a mobile company still providing paging services, add the pager number to the van.

What if you have a yellow former Penske/DHL truck? If you didn't want the unfaded ghost of the old decals, you'd need to repaint or do a vinyl wrap. Some state DOT's and LEO's will look for logo'd vehicles to make sure they are tagged/registered properly. In some states the cost for registration is much larger for a commercial vehicle and the rules regarding what is a commercial vehicle can be different for every state. It could result in a major fine simply by advertising as acommercial vehicle.

I'd highly suggest making up a business rather then coping signage from a well known one.<br><br>Something generic that still looks legit like "Parker Plumbing" done up nice with a google voice number attached that goes to a voice mail for said factitious business.<br><br>Better yet if you have any of the those kinds of skills with handy man or repair work make it a real one for usually less then $100 bucks at city hall to make it all legal. Bring in some extra money on the side too.

Don't know where you live, but a $100 won't touch squat when it comes to any kind of trade: plumbing, electric etc., testing plus. &nbsp;Also any business with tools is a target for theft.

The police have been riding around the neighborhood for ever and they know every thing that is new on their beat. If they knock on your ride, you really don't want to give any impression of trying to hide anything. It is better to fess up, "i,m on a cheap vacation and got way to tired to drive. I have not had any problems with the police, have come out of a store and had men trying to see inside van, that is the reason for florist signage, no one peeking since.

<br><br>Was the only thing I could come up with that didn't have tools or other valuables, It's a shame I felt the need...<br><br>Using the 800 number from a national chain, that way if someone calls they get an answer and can order flowers, no reason to suspect that the van is not what it appears.

At another forum i frequent this topic came up and there was one solution that sounded doable. Sounds crazy at first but it could be a Win/Win.<br><br>Any van, stock or standup top, wouldn't matter. The basic idea was to be an animal poop picker upper. The up side is not many _thieves_ would ever think of breaking in. How many valuables can be in a pooper-scooper van!? <img src="/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> On the outside you have something like Pet Support Services. Have a free skype phone number they can call...and be prepared to accomplish your services if called upon. You might make some money on the side.<br><br>

Pooper-scooper is an excellent idea.&nbsp; My only concern is would it arouse suspicion if you had an out of state tag, especially one that's&nbsp; many states away and not just from neighboring states. <br><br>I was also thinking about security guard business, but that would require many more licenses, fees, etc. with different laws for different states.
