He made some good points. He's cheesy but he's also a new YouTuber so I'm not expecting much. I would add that the higher the gas prices go, the less people will be on the road so if you still have the money to travel, you'll have way less competition for the normal touristy areas.

Thanks so much for your gentle support. I don't always get things right, but I'm doing my best to search for the positive in this current situation that is difficult for many people who have budget limitations. I know a lot of what I say is obvious, but in times like this, common sense sometimes becomes not so common, and I'm hoping a reminder will be helpful to some.

The video is ok. The "talking to the wife" skit wasn't for me but others might like it. You mentioned some things I wouldn't have thought about, like grabbing a bike to get around, so it was worth watching. Glad you're going to keep making videos. Take care

Hey, my first Youtube video sucked so bad that they weren't even crewel enough to put me out my misery. But I never took it down just as a reminder where I started from.

Sting, just to show I'm a good sport about these videos, here is my first ever YouTube video. You can tell why I don't do that many. I'm going to put out music videos without any talking.

Nice! I like quite that... it smooths me right out!

Here is an idea for a Youtube video. Let's say that gas gets above $8 per gallon and you are on a fixed income of $1,000 or even less. There are 25 mile rules with 14 days every 28 days. If I understand that you need a triangle to stay in one area for a prolonged period. All you need then are supplies like food, water, trash, and dumping of tanks. You might need to deal with temperature and snow. It might be interesting to learn from experts that stay out on BLM or NFS lands and stay in close proximity to a single area. That would solve the gas problem in a budget.

A small motorcycle or ATV for fetching water, groceries, mail, etc. makes it even easier.

Once again volunteering or a seasonal job allows you to stay in one place usually with hookups. With many of the internet stores doing cheap or free delivery and cheap hunting and fishing licenses for local residents you can get by pretty inexpensively and save money for when you do travel.

14 days in area 1, then 14 days in area 2, is 28 days from the first day in area 1. No regulatory requirement for three areas in that simple scenario. But familiarity breeds contempt, and a Ranger may give unwanted attention.

Arizona's NFs all require moving outside of a NF before returning after 28 days. A bit of an issue when one is trying to stay at higher elevation NFs during the summer, having to descend and ascend to get to a nearby mountain range in a different NF.

Higher traffic areas may have tighter restrictions including annual limits, such as Eastern Sierras with 28 days in Inyo NF per calendar year and 14 days in the BLM Bishop Field Office's area per calendar year.

It is possible to rotate between agencies such as state land, national forest, national parks and private land as well in the same area.

Wait … let me get popcorn first …

I like it. Hats off to anyone who does videos… I cant even leave a voice message.

Another though: With gas prices so high, the price of rigs may drop.
Now that would be a plus and what I have been waiting for since they got so high in recent 2 years. Already seeing a drop in older rigs esp the infamous Toyo's.

Of course skyrocketing fuel costs mean skyrocketing almost everything else...flights, food, consumables...almost all fertilizer comes from Russia and Belarus, without which US "breadbasket" crops will have lower production...combined with cutting off of distribution, some expect food riots, which have already started in some countries, Iraq for example, by late summer. Food riots mean flash mob thieving of grocery stores, likely closures of restaurants, higher security for food outlets, rationing, finally tied to digital currency/social credit control (like Canada which seized funds of truckers). If not some pockets of civil unrest or even civil war. Food shortages start revolutions. Many Americans are overweight but orchestrated starvation, why this is not a preferred diet. Most have no idea how to grow or procure food like our ancestors. Russia provided only 2% of US fuel, the domestic fuel cut-offs are deliberate and the majority of the cause of the gas price rises. They even cut off alternative fuel technology. The power grid cannot possibly hold up to everyone plugging in a vehicle, 100A to 200A residences are meant for toaster ovens, washers, dryers, maybe a heater, plus they don't go far. The orchestrated near future looks challenging, if not bleak.

Well, aren’t you a ray of sunshine.
What do you mean by “orchestrated”. (Like holodomor?) really?
I do believe we are in a time of finding equilibrium… getting back to basics, slowing down… and I think we can use it as a time to reconnect to things and each other. Fear of such things as you mention only creates them. Instead of fearing it all, let’s look to each other and give support and find better ways.

It seems that’s the purpose of this video… how to make a negative a positive. Getting back to things we may of lost, esp during the past few years. I didn’t really get it at first as I went in with a sarcastic eye. But he really does have a point and I like that we have positives from times of struggle.

There actually is a they. I have yet to submit my first creation. It must include some form of Control Voltage processing. So I have a semi-modular synth that has a patch bay for that purpose. These wacky synth people are from all over the world. I'm inspired by Blade Runner, Tangerine Dream, and Pink Floyd. So I have a long ways to go. This is what I do when I travel and camp.

He's not a troll. He's a true believer engaged in the early stages of listening to people with their own set of facts. He likes his side and truly believes that what he likes is the absolute and whole truth. He's about to become aware that politicians lie and make promises in order to get elected. That stage almost always displays itself, when becoming aware that he has been lied to, in getting angry. Next comes an actual effort to seek the real truth. That stage takes many years. Next comes the realizations that having an informed opinion doesn't amount to hill of beans. All the awareness, dog whistling, sophistry, and code words will not change anyone's minds. Everyone is sort of confined to their own stage of understanding. I found this expressed well in a movie.

If you're referring to my post about upcoming food shortages and how one might want to think about that before they become serious and one is out of options, why would you want to silence this idea?
