It DID run out of fuel. In the middle of the barrens.
Nice to be able to get fuel from van and have warm coffee and an omlette.

So am I the only person using a single burner Coleman with propane? I like the idea of the single burner butane stove, but isn't the fuel much more expensive? I've used butane/iso blends with my Pocket Rocket camping and the small ones aren't cheap. Please enlighten me. :)

I've been using a single burner Coleman stove for years--works great. Yes, butane is much, much more expensive per gallon.

You can get adapters to use the asian store $1 cans.

But nothing's cheaper than bulk propane.

Also easy to get adapters to run a butane stove to run off either kind of propane tank.

I like the ability to toss the stove + fuel in a small pack and take along hiking or on a picnic.
