Metal pontoons on houseboats in storage with the cooler weather “oil can” and boom and bang as they expand and contract. Sounds like being next to a train being made up as the cars couple or when the bottom of a slag pot falls out just slightly quieter. I imagine the panels on the motor home are doing something similar although ravens make a loud landing when they roost on my roof! Pirates should be used to the loud noises in the night! Lol!!!

Laundromat?

Two in town, yes? On on Main and one on 95n on the right...

preferences? feedback?

Patty’s RV has an open to the public laundromat area. Not a lot of machines, just double load as the biggest, and they are all top loaders. Patty’s has the claim as the only 24 hour laundromat in the town. It is also the only public one open in the “off season”. There is no change machine. But during the day you can go to the office where they handle the propane sales and buy quarters.

There are 2 laundromats on 95 this year, one is close to the RV Pitstop, same side of road in a little strip mall building. The other one is on 95, just a block north of Main Street at the first cross street on the east side right behind the gas station. That one was closed for a few years, including last year, but reopened this fall. I think it is called Corner Laundromat.

The guy at Patty’s Propane said it has been much slower than years past and he doesn’t think Q will be as busy this year due to gas prices.

....and how much was propane .... and he may be right.... at some point I imagine as a casual RVer, how often do you need to go to the "big show", and the wave of new RVers is plummeting.. those of us that full time are seeing the same dollar having to be stretched farther... so he may well be right... ;)

The amount of people at the LTVA looks about the same as last year at this time. But as many people visiting Quartzsite are on fixed income one thing is for sure, they are cutting back on non essential spending and being thrifty with heating fuel, fuel for trips into town made strictly for entertainment to relieve boredom, dining out, etc.

I guess though we will just have to wait and see how many of the big diesel fueled rigs show up in January for their annual get together at La Posa South.

Boy... they were blaming the full dumpsters and such on the increased population in the ltva’s this early in the season... but I think they made the same excuse last year too if I recall on the Tyson side of the highway.

Weather report from Quartzsite…no snow today 🎅

^^^Alice’s Restaurant at Thanksgiving and the above at Christmas! Lol!!!
