PDANET+ was downloaded on my Cricket phone with 10 Gigs of data but with tethering blocked. IT WORKS GREAT

It's not quite as fast as my high speed cable but more than close enough for me.  I play a few pogo games a week and the rest is forums and email so I think I can manage the data. Honey also has Cricket with 10 Gigs so when one plan gets close, I'll switch.

this lets me kill the cable at over $100 a month. YAHOOOOO

Glad it works for you.  Me, with that much data I'd require being able to link my laptop to it - not worth it to me otherwise.  The data limitation on cellphones is the only thing keeping me on my landline ISP (unlimited - truly UNLIMITED - data), so I can watch Netflix and Hulu videos.

Luckily most of what we watch comes OTA. Games like hockey and football I like to listen too on radio and the adapter corky suggested will let my use a larger screen with just the phone most of the time. It's the few pogo games a week that I need the computer for and I'll try it for a while before turning the cable off.

My netbook and desktop worked great tethered. Played pogo bowl, streamed hockey, forums, etc.

So far I haven't figured out the hot spot side of it. First it said not supported and now failed to open hotspot. Not too worried about it as long as the tethering works.

Cricket doesn't support tethering or hot spots. They simply turn off the features and the options are not there. This has allowed me to tether a computer for the limited things I need a computer to do and use the phone normally for the rest. (reading)

Tethering is using the phone to connect a computer to the net via a usb cord. A hot spot is wireless.
