...That one thing is learning the art of making money.  With money, all of your other problems go away, and making money is just about as easy as falling off a log.

If I was in your situation, I believe I would spend a week learning how to make money, a week making money, then get the whole works built by a professional.  Let me give you a few hint's...

Santa Claus's get paid $100+ per hour... So do clowns, mimes, face painters, and many other types of entertainers.  Even street entertainers can make $40-$60/hour or more.

I'm selling Christmas Trees.  I make a lousy $10 per tree.  In the last 7 days I have cleared $7500, and this gig will last through Christmas.

If you have some artistic abilities, business window painters make a killing this time of year.

Learning to make money, anytime, and anywhere, will get you further in life than anything else.  Once you have learned that, your wood gas project or anything else money can buy becomes easily obtainable.  Spending your time learning to make money, then making that money, will get your project completed quicker than any other way.

Go make the $1,000 you need at a flea market this weekend.  Do you know how?  Other people do it EVERY weekend.  Swap meets and Christmas bazaars can be a gold mine if you know what you're doing.  A friend made $5,000 last weekend at a Christmas Bazaar, selling advertising to the vendors. Oh please elaborate on this money pulling oppurtunity!

If you don't like dealing with the public in person, then learn to make money online.  Free software and a mailing list could have 1,000 people paying you $10/mo within a week or two. Please elaborate how this is accomplished legitimately! People do this stuff all the time.  I could pull $10k a month out of your town starting next week if I wanted to, and you could do the exact same thing and the same people would gladly pay you too.  I know areas where over 100 people are doing this, and all of them are making that kind of money., I've become jaded on internet work, seen too many scams & schemes plus entry-level online gigs like AMAZON Mechanical Turk or surveys pay peanuts. Not to mention the there is always somebody else on the internet willing to work that same gig for less. I know four digit internet income takes work, so please share your legitimate internet-based work Off Grid 24/7.

How many of those above jobs require Social Connections? Because that is one thing that is very unobtanium for me.

I spent over 40 years of my life working regular jobs because that was all I knew.  I only learned how to actually make money after I retired.  You have youth on your side, learn how to make money, you will never regret it.
Text in bold is my response, regular text is written by OffGrid24/7.

Some people need money now and are willing to work for it. Many of these people are entry-level and are low-skilled, and want decent pay for selling their time. Please share oppurtunities that are available everywhere in the country, every time of year can start TODAY. Not long processes or investments before seeing pay, but oppurtunties can be worked TODAY and recieve pay TOMMOROW!

FIND A NEED AND FILL IT.  Do not talk it to death, just get busy.  One week working in the Bay Area I made about $5,000.  I worked 90 hours a week at a extremely skilled profession that I went out and learned the hard way.  I still have scars 30 years later.

" If you have some artistic abilities, business window painters make a killing this time of year."

Seriously??? A KILLING??? WHERE???

I've been a sign and custom painter for OVER 30 years now, and 'Holiday Window Splashes' are a hard sell. Why???...

a.) they're only going to be up for 3-4 weeks, so it's not worth spending a bunch of money on
b.) the owner's niece can draw horses really well, so she can do it for pennies on the dollar
c.) It doesn't promote anything about the actual products the store sells
d.) any 'loose' money the store owner has, is used up buying presents
e.) because of the above, good luck making that 'killing' at it.

oh sure, you can sell these and make a bit of money at it, and it's not excruciatingly hard work either...but in all my years I've only had a few select customers who want Holiday Windows painted, and are willing to pay for nice jobs.

well since you said work today pay tomorrow. that cuts it way down. you could go down to your local Home Depot, Lowes and hustle work with the other day laborers. that's work today pay today cash under the table. there is also Labor Ready, you also get paid the same day however this is legit above board. why don't you get a regular entry level job, then get some schooling on something you like to do, or go for an apprenticeship in a trade. once you learn a trade you can use it for the rest of your life. I would give a quote from John Wayne here, but some people might get offended, and I would get in trouble. highdesertranger

If you don't mind hard work, and I mean HARD work, go to a warehouse that gets lots of trucks and look for day jobs as a "lumper". They are guys that truckers hire to unload their trucks. It's been a LONNNNNNNGG time since I was on the road but I hired a few. I paid cash. Some of those guys were making 50 - 75 a day and that was in 1987. If there are any truckers reading, perhaps they can jump in and offer thoughts. Things may have changed in the last 30 years.... BTW - be there like 4:00am Truckers like to get there during the night and get unloaded as early as possible so they can move on.

Also, give Kelly or Manpower a call. See if they have any day labor positions. -- McDonald's pays every two weeks. I googled "Day Labor" and got a number of hits. One, LaborWorks pays daily.

ALL the fast food places are always looking. Hotels may need some day help. Call landscapers, contractors etc. If you are going to be mobile, ask each boss if he will give you a reference if you have a potential boss call. I don't know if that would work, it just popped into my head...

When you are job searching and/or short of cash, looking for ways to earn can seem daunting. Try to calm down and look around. Anything that looks like manual labor or what society calls "menial" is an opportunity.

I have a question. In your threads you mention having no money for several years and money being too tight to afford much of anything. What is wrong with working a menial job for minimum wage? If you have no viable skills, there is nothing wrong with working a low skill job and making minimum wage.

Working full time at minimum wage, you'd make over 1,000 in a month. Save as much of that as you can and within a few months, you'd have enough saved to be able to do whatever you want to the van, or drive wherever you wish to go. You have posted you don't pay any bills and your Parents foot the bill for what travelling you do, so any job would put you ahead of the game.

If you could somehow find a job requiring no skills but in a field that would be of benefit to learn, you'd be that much ahead of the game.

I agree with Rugster. Take any job and see where it leads. I started working at a cabinet shop straight out of high school emptying barrels of saw dust 40 hours a week for $5.50 min wage at the time. I worked hard, boss took notice and taught me the trade. 6 years later I took a job with a general contractor and learned other areas of construction. Four years after that i started my own remodeling business. Did that for a few years and got a job as a project manager for a large construction company with the skills I learned the previous 12 years. Took that knowledge and again segway'd into a higher paying job as a public insurance adjuster. Like most things in life it takes time to get where you want to be. I don't regret any of my career choices, I can honestly say I've never worked a day in my life where I didn't enjoy doing it. However, now I want to take some time and get away from that world. Some quick research on this website and their youtube page I've found that you can work as a campground host in a state park from Memorial to Labor day, after that you can head up to North Dakota and work on the Beet Farms and from there you can work for Amazon at one of their facilities around the country during the holiday rush. Once that's done, you'll have a really decent nest egg, can take the next five months off and start the process over the following Memorial Day. Plenty of work out there, IF you're willing to do it. I've spent 18 years working my way to the top of a career I love, and yet I'd have no problem accepting minimum wage if it meant i could spend a few years living and traveling on the road.
